| Watching this helps to give a clue to how some politics are done. In some cases like this, in unconventional ways. The end of the movie is really what strikes a cord - without giving anything away basically how after the Soviets pulled out of Afghanistan the US abandoned them and look what happened 20 years later. |

| Disappointing, I'd say. Very good actors in a somewhat predicatble all too "feel good" film. We rented it - I wouldn't buy it. I'd give it 2 and a half stars if I could. |

| I just finished watching Cranford and was moved in all my emotions. It is a beautiful piece about friendship, sacrifice, loyalty, mercy, regrets, new hope, and romantic love at ALL stages of life. I can truly say this is a film that WILL stay with me for months and years. While I found it dark at times (a couple grim surgeries and the oppressive poverty of a major character) the film was a mix of sun and shade, just as life. | I recently watched this movie, and I have mixed feeling about it. While it is true that historical accuracy is stretched and the dialogue isn't exactly period, I enjoyed the performance given by the actors chosen for the role, and much of the movie on its own account. | AMC's sleeper hit, "Mad Men", is garnering rave reviews. | I remember watching this when I was a junior high student. It was the first I had heard of the horrible fate of six million European Jews under Hitler's Nazi Europe. It was so moving and heartbreaking that I remember crying several times. | I watched a few of these episodes on HBO and couldn't get the theme song out of my head so I bought the soundtrack. Great ambient music, especially during patriotic events (eg. 4th of July, elections, etc.). Best tracks are 1, 2, and 5. |
