| This book took away the helpless feeling I was having dealing wih my daughter's anxiety. It gave me practical strategies to use to help her conquer her worries and anxieties. This book gave us our daughter back. |

| Just from the intro. written to the parents, I was impressed. It made me feel more at ease about some of my son's issues. I am a former school counselor and I thought the layout of the book was great and it kept my 6 year old's attention (we would do a chapter a night each night before nights out). | At first my son was really angry that he got this book. He threw it on the floor and walked away! When I finally got him to look at it with me I let him treat it as a workbook. After all, it has spaces for writing and drawing. I also gave him a highlighter and told him to mark things that seemed important. | Wonderful explanations of what anger is, how to recognize the feelings, how to express the feeling in a healthier way and how to problem solve. My daughter loved the examples of dialogue as they were accurate samples of what she deals with on a daily basis with her peers at school. | I love the Indigo Dreams series. It has worked wonders for my son who is diagnosed with Asperger's and ADHD. He somtimes suffers from nighttime anxiety and restlessness. This has led to many sleepless nighs and many nightmares as he struggled to work out the day's events. Since turning him on to Indigo Dreams he is sleeping sound and falling asleep relaxed. | I hope to put into words how transformational this CD is.
My 8 year old son has a lot of anxiety due in part to his reading disability. So whenever I introduce a new concept to him (home charter school), he immediately thinks he can't do it, he gets extremely frustrated, and gives up before even trying. Awful. | Although my daughter's doctor recommended this book, I didn't end up using it very much, because I found another one that I like better: What to Do When You Worry Too Much: A Kid's Guide to Overcoming Anxiety (What to Do Guides for Kids) by Dawn Huebner. Ms. Huebner's book pretty much gives you the same tools as this book, but explains the strategies in ways that my daughter can easily grasp. I showed the book to our doctor (he hadn't seen it before) and he thought it looked great! |
