| Mo Willems is a comic genius, and this book may be his best yet. If you love Dr. Seuss, and feel sad that the whole "Beginner Books" line seems to have died out, then you will celebrate Mo Willems's entire Elephant and Piggie series. | So yeah, the illustrations were neat. Yes, I highly liked the design and the color of the pages. But the story itself? Overrated. Nothing much happens. The passages are short. At the end of the book, it's revealed that the entire story is based on a real person, really ruining the book for me. | Like Trixie, my 3 yr old daughter has a very special bunny. We fell in love with the Knuffle Bunny and Knuffle Bunny Too books right away. Our daughter can really relate to Trixie and now and then even calls her bunny 'knuffle bunny'. As far as the dvd, our daughter loves watching Knuffle Bunny, Planting a Rainbow and Will I Have a Friend?. The other stories don't seem to have her interest, however that is probably just an age or personality thing. I am happy for her to watch books being read to her and word tracking on the screen. | My kids just didn't get this book. There is no plot and the story (if you can call it that) is just too strange to enjoy. You don't feel sympathetic toward the pigeon, who seems to be talking to himself in a kind of psychotic/obsessive-compulsive rant. The illustrations are fun but I can't recommend this book when there are so many other wonderful children's books to be discovered. |
