This was my favorite cartoon tape when I was a kid, and I lost it by the time I grew up. I can't believe I finally found it! It's wonderful! I hope to share it with my kids. The cartoons are peaceful, funny, clever -they cover every emotion and are always engaging and fun.

VHS : The Alamo [Restored Original Director's Cut]
I love this film. It's entertaining as it can be but historically it is way off the mark. The lyrics of one of song goes as follows: "...let the legend grow and grow....'bout those thirteen days of glory at the siege of Alamo..." I think this demonstrates Wayne's philosophy..."let the LEGEND grow and grow..." He had no problem with bending the facts a little to emphasize the glory that was Alamo.

I'm in total disagreement with this philosophy. I think that the actual story of Alamo ... Read More:

VHS : Way West
The one thing I have learned about the so-called "professional" reviewers of films is that they have built in prejudices and ideas just like the rest of us...so I really do not pay that much attention to a review, good or bad. As for The Way West" I have seen this film at least twice. I enjoyed it both times. While I like The Big Sky better, that is not to say I did not enjoy this film. Probably the one negative I have is Sally Fields portraying a young tramp who causes problems for others along the way. But ... Read More:

If you like old movies, this is a good one. The story is not that great but the dancing & singing are very good. You realize what a good singer Howard Keel is & I didn't even know Jane Wyatt cold sing, and she is very good.

What a classy dame! Mae West can deliver one liners second to none, and she does so in this great movie about diamonds, seduction and men. It's a common thread with her, but it never gets old. Of all the movies she's done, it's easy to say that she sings the best in the Belle of the Nineties. If you're going to get one Mae West movie, you better add this one to your collection.

Peter Strauss, an underated actor, who has given numerous outstanding performances, is paired with the legendary Charlton Heston in a superb drama of a the younger Strauss returning home with wife and son in tow to be with his father, played by Heston, who is dying. The conflict between the two men arises because of Strauss's character's disavowal of the Vietnam war, in which he served. Heston sees this as cowardice and his view is shared by many in the conservative town, who view Strauss with open contempt. The father/son dynamic ... Read More:

This movie makes me cry from laughing. Sort of in the tradition of Blazing Saddles but better! The whole cast is great! It must have been one of the most fun movies to make, but I can't imagine how anyone ever kept a straight face to get through a scene.
