| Cannot wait for this movie to be released in DVD format. My VHS tape arrived quickly and in good order. This is a great story about making ends meet and following your bliss. Richard Farnsworth plays a character that reminds me so of my own kin. |

| Though the titles are similar, as is some of the cast, this isn't a sequel to Support Your Local Sheriff. In some ways it's the complete opposite of Support Your Local Sheriff. In Sheriff Garner was good with a gun, in this one he isn't. In this movie he's Latigo Smith, much more akin to Maverick than his character in Sheriff, i.e., he's slower with a gun & somewhat of a coward.

| I love the film but... We get a two sides dvd, labeled "standard" and "widescreen". Standard has 640x480 pixels video, 4:3 aspect ratio, and widescreen 853x480 pixels, 16:9 aspect ratio. This is great, but the problem is both versions are truncated versions of the original. The widescreen is even more truncated ! If you compare two images, Clint has some blue sky above is hat in standard, and you see only half of his hat in widescreen ! I say it this way to makes things clear, but I'm a tech oriented guy, ... | This is one of the absolute best movies Wayne did. I saw this in the theatre many years ago when it was released and never forgot it. I has an incredible music score and just some of the best dynamics of any western.

| Yes, this is a movie any horse lover should own. But the value goes well beyond the love of horses and to the issues of faith, family love and common decency. And what a great story about a horse who knows who really loves him as he tries at every turn to escape from his cruel trainer. Great ending that also demonstrates decency and ethics as the original owner sees what is going on and that the horse belongs where the girl and her family live.
