VHS : It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown is, for me, one of those great holiday cartoons that I don't want to miss when it's shown on ABC. With the busy schedule that we all have, it's impossible to plan my life around the TV schedule (as I don't have Tivo) so it's good to have these kind of classics in my collection.

Everything from the music of Vince Guaraldi to the happiness in Snoopy's laugh this is a great film be you 7 or 70.

I've loved this gem of a comedy since I was a kid, and nothing else makes me feel better than dusting it off and watching it again with fresh eyes. Sharing the experience with friends seeing it for the first time is a particular joy, since many have never seen this wonderful comedy -- although they have heard the title. The talent of the actors and the sparkling script put this film head-and-shoulders above fantasy films of today.

VHS : The African Queen
What a work of art! This is one of the best movies of all time. When the spinster missionary woman (Hepburn) must TOLERATE Mr. Arnaut (Bogart)
in their life-threatening trip down the river in a beat-up old boat, The African Queen, the fun begins. She can drum up no respect for this man--until she realizes that he is an intelligent person who may be able to save their lives by his cool wit. He good naturedly sloughs off her constant criticism, while she endures his slovenly ways and colorful language. At some point they ... Read More:

VHS : Laura (1944)
For the most part, this is a good film: well-written, well-photographed, well-directed and well-acted. But for me, Gene Tierney simply does not have the beauty or strength or charisma that the part of Laura seems to call for. She's certainly pretty, but not beautiful or striking. She's competent, but I wouldn't call her brilliant. I'm told that she is all these things but I really can't see it for myself. I can't, in my own imagination, see her walking into a room and turning everyone's head around, making men "desirous" or women "envious". An actress ... Read More:

VHS : The Ma & Pa Kettle Collection: The Egg and I
This warm and funny account of a newly married couple trying to make a go of it on a backwoods chicken farm, based on Betty MacDonald's popular best seller, was a big hit with audiences during the 1940's and has lost none of its appeal today. This is a great film the entire family can watch together. Chester Erskine produced, directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Fred F. Finklehoffe in this hilarious and heartwarming film all will enjoy.

Claudettle Colbert is wonderful as the shocked but game Betty when on her honeymoon her husband Bob (Fred ... Read More:
