VHS : Canterville Ghost (1944)
I saw this black & white movie Canterville Ghost(1944) years ago. The cowardly ghost was funny. I was excited to find it on Amazon. The ghost tries to scare the guest instead they scare the cowardly ghost. Once again I enjoyed watching it but it wasn't as funny as I remembered. I also purchased the newer version in color of Canterville Ghost(1986)staring John Gielgud, Ted Wass, Andrea Marcovicci, and Alyssa Milano. This Canterville ghost wants the new owners out and is very mischief. We enjoyed ... Read More:

VHS : Rome Adventure

I saw this film in 1962 just days after returning from a tour of Italy. While not a classic film by any means, I was totally won over and was back in Italy again. Whenever I watch it and listen to Max Steiner's wonderful score I can practically smell Rome. It was titled 'Lovers Must Learn' here in the UK, and was never released on VHS here. I had to get a copy from the USA. I would like to add a plea to Warner Bros to release this film on DVD. It has a real nostalgia quotient attached to it, even more ... Read More:

A few of the hosts were not that funny but some were great! Ruth Buzzi as the spinster with the purse as weapon (from Laugh-In) was fantastic. Peter Falk was in character as Columbo in his routine and it was great. Flip Wilson's routine was way, way too short. Red Foxx was great too. Also included roasting Frank was Orson Welles, Don Rickles, Jack Klugman, Jimmy Stewart, Ronald Reagan shortly after losing to Ford for President!, More.

Excellent movie. Great message. Newman on the tug's roof at the end sipping a beer is priceless. Excellent message: Honor your word no matter the price. Strange that Newman, an arch liberal, would be in a movie that paints unions in a very bad light. Release it on DVD and I'll purchase.

We received this book very quickly, in the described condition. It was an earlier print of the book with a smaller font, but overall it was a great
buying experience.

VHS : Ivanhoe (1982)
I'm 40 now, but saw this as a fourteen-year old girl. What I remember:
-Sam Neill was a thrilling villain--handsome, diabolical, and exciting. One of Britain's underestimated talents (see him in My Brilliant Career also--another favorite at 14).
-Olivia Hussey, one of the world's most beautiful women, was poignant and admirable in her defence against above villain. If the Olivia name craze hadn't taken place, I would have named my daughter Olivia because of her. (I also didn't because I only had sons. Oh, yeah.) Catch her ... Read More:

VHS : A Cry In The Wild
Am I the only one that's paying attention to what's on this page or are these reviews being sent to the wrong page? All the reviews I've read here are for a completely different movie! "Cry in the Wild: The Taking of Peggy Ann" is a made for TV movie (1991) based on the true story of Peggy Ann Bradnick's 1966 abduction by a deranged mountain man (played by David Morse) that led to the largest manhunt in Pennsylvania history. The screenplay was written by Durrell Royce Crays. The abduction and subsequent manhunt was also detailed in the book "Deadly ... Read More:

VHS : If Looks Could Kill
I remember seeing this movie when it originally came out in the cinemas - and I came out with a smile on my face. Its one of those silly but really enjoyable teen movies that were so popular in the 1980s (eg Ferris Buller's Day off or Real Genius) that aren't made any more.

This is still I think the best Bond parody movie I've seen - given how much else that has come out on DVD over the years I'm still amazed that this isn't available anywhere in the DVD format. If you run across an old tape (and still have a VHS player) its worth popping ... Read More:
