| I purchased this movie for a friend from the Amazon market place seller and was holding my breath waiting to see what kind of shape a movie this old would be in when it arrived in my mailbox but to my surprise, it arrived in near mint condition. So my friend, who doesn't live near me, asked me to view the movie to make sure it was okay, I said "sure why not?, I hadn't seen it since it aired on TV, I'll give it a whirl!".

| Well, I pretty much got this for the nude scenes of a lovely and voluptuous early 1970s Linda Carter, and she certainly is a wonder of a woman! As to the rest of it, a pretty standard movie with little else of consequence going on. |

| I've always enjoyed this movie, except for one thing. The actor who plays Willie Keith- Robert Francis- is awful. I think a wooden indian could have delivered a better performance. One of the plot elements of the movie is that Ensign Keith is well connected, Francis must have been as well, because he never deserved being awarded this pivotal role.
Everyone else does a creditable job,and Jose Ferrer and Humphrey Bogart are outstanding. The movie ends just at the right point- not like ... Read More: |

| Dorothy L. Sayers writes many non-fiction books however among her best is the Lord Peter Wimsey series. I came to this series sort of though the back door. My first taste was the BBC productions with Petherbridge as Lord Peter that can now be found on DVD ASIN: B000062XDX. So I read all of Dorothy's books containing the relationship of Lord Peter Wimsey and Harriet Vane. Now it is time to go through the whole series.

| I love this movie, the music, the sounds of the voices, the one liners,

| This is the second in my "series" of films for which I am truly thankful, the problem with that being that it is the first one that most of you will be reading. Such is life. In my first review, which was actually more of a thumbnail appreciation of the original production of THE THING (a film that literally shaped the rest of my life), I mentioned that there was another film that had taught me an important lesson at the age of 12, one that I hope I will carry with me for the rest of my life. | Stirling Silliphant wrote the script for this movie, being the primary writer for the "Route 66" TV series in the 60's it has a very similar feeling to one of those shows. All of the drama, the monologues, the glitz and glamour (when appropriate)is there. The movie even opens with Sidney Potier driving by the Space Needle, how cool and kitch is that? An excellent film that needs to come out on DVD very soon - as does the Route 66 TV series!
