| A lovely, haunting fantasy of Joseph Cotton meeting a girl (Jennifer Jones) from another age, who "grows up fast" in order to be with him only to die tragically. But she has made him able to paint deeply and importantly because of his love of her, and he faces the future with a different view of time and the meaning of life. (or is that my wishful thinking?) | Great collection of movies with the first one the best one. Because the budget on the succeeding movies was cut, to some degree the quality suffered; however this was balanced by the creativity.
The collection looks great in blu-ray. |

| In my humble opinion, some of the best movies I've ever seen were good old classics like this one. Although I am only 22 years of age, Jimmy Stewart is one of my favorite actors, and this is my favorite of Hitchcock's works. Doris Day outdid herself as the mourning mother, and the two of them did a very good job playing a married couple. I think this movie, as far as the acting is concerned, was way ahead of its time. | If ever a movie has made me feel as trapped as its protagonist does, Misery stands right up there. I must admit that I have never read King's novel on which this film was based, but it didn't stop the movie from chilling my bones. It was an effort just to sit through it; it's that intense. This movie is for the "COMPLEX THINKER" or the "DYSLEXIC MIND" ...few can put this movie together in less than 2 or 3 viewings. This film literally runs forward from the end of the movie yet backwards at the same time; adding supposed real-time moments where the main character is on the phone or reminiscing about things he remembers before his assault. | I really love this movie. "Above Suspicion" was Joan's final studio-system picture for MGM and her final feature movie until her worldwide hit, "Mildred Pierce." In this picture, Joan plays Frances Myles or Mrs. Edward Smith. This is a fast-moving, war-era movie involving a newlywed couple (Joan and Fred Mcmurray) as they play spies in Europe. Sadly, Joan always hated this movie, when asked about it many years later she only said: no prize for this one either. |
