| I am a dancer and ballet is my favorite type of dance. I have seen dozens of different Nutcrackers over the years, from the traditional to the avand garde. Nothing can compare with this version. Baryshnikov shines. And Kirkland is a most sensuous Clara/Marie. Their duet at the end replaced the traditional "sugarplum fairy" dance. But, what a duet! I never get tired of watching it. A true Christmas treasure. |

| The Jungle Book is one of those Disney classics that I never ever get tired of watching! It was the first ever Disney cartoon that my parents got me when I was a child. The characters in this masterpiece are wonderful and each and every one of them has a unique style and personality. Kudos to Rudyard Kipling for writing this beautiful story that will live on in our hearts for many years to come! |

| After seeing a revival of Carnival at the Kennedy Center about two years ago, I wanted to see this. When I found a used copy recently, I was disturbed. The story focuses on a woman who borders on social retardation and a man who loves her who is emotional abusive unless he's using his puppets to communicate emotion. Hmmm. Worth watching, but what it says about gender roles in mid-century America is just downright disturbing. |

| Excellent performance by all the actors and opera singers. It was a very good idea to transport the classic opera into a movies version. This adaptation is not new, nevertheless, is a masterpiece for all times. Congratulations ! |

| I'd never seen this before getting the DVD, or at least never seen the entire film. I knew all the songs already, and my husband says we saw it as a play, but if we did, a lot of stuff was cut out.
Milkman Tevye (Topol), his wife, and five (!) daughters in pre-revolutionary Russia. I remember my parents going to see this at the theater, probably back in 1971, when it was released, and listening to my mom and some of her friends swooning over Topol. | I first saw this film back in the 70's on the big scrren...and never forgot it. It's one of the most wonderful Christmas movies. This film captures the spirit of the original Dickens story, adding the zest of beautiful, gritty London sets, delightful music (why oh why has a CD never been released?) and wonderful performances from the actors. I looked in vain for it to play on television and was thrilled when it came out on DVD. Now it's part of my annual holiday watching and I share it with more people each year.
