| As a Hollywood biopic this is only average. Too much of the film is devoted to Gershwin's supposed romantic involvement with two women, who are both entirely fictional. Far more important in reality was his friendship with Oscar Levant, who was not only the composer's best friend but also after his death was widely recognized as the most authoritative interpreter of his major works for piano, Rhapsody in Blue and Concerto in F. | I have both of the Metropolitan Opera DVDs of la Boheme and consider this the finer production, Carreras and Stratas are not only vocally excellent they look the part. Renata Scotto is perfect as Musetta. In the other copy she plays Mimi and Pavarotti is Rodolfo. They are just too healthy to be dying of TB or look like a starving playwright. That copy I would rate as 4 stars. |

| If you are a fan of 80's pop music, then this is a great movie to watch. It has a classic "good girl-boy from the wrong side of the tracks" storyline. The acting is superb, but Jessica Steen (the good girl) does give a great performance as do some of the other supporting actors. The movie is interspersed with great music that culminates with great musical numbers at the end. If you are a fan classic 80's movies, then this is a must see. |

| This documentary shows Elvis as he starts to go down a destuctive path. You can sense in certain scenes that his heath is in decline. It gives a "behind the scenes" feel as to what life on tour with Elvis was like. He sings great and looks cool as only he can. |

| I lived in Thailand for 2 1/2 years in the 1990's. It was a very nice time indeed. I know that this is not good history for Thailand and in fact the film is banned in Thailand (but a bootleg copy can be found on every street corner) because of the poor history and light on it's great king, King Mongkut. To me as an American, I can see the brilliance of a Rogers and Hammerstein Musical and enjoy its wonderful story and entertainment, it is different for a Thai person.
