VHS : The Perfect Weapon
I'm 100% with all of you who say it should be released on DVD!!! I am rating this only one star not because it is a bad movie - the movie is excellent. It's because this item is VHS and it's a dead format. I haven't had a VHS player for years and have no intention of getting another one...

I saw this movie several years ago and have wanted to get it on DVD for years; which is why I found myself on this page. I want it and can't understand what reasoning the studio might have for releasing ... Read More:

VHS : The African Queen
What a work of art! This is one of the best movies of all time. When the spinster missionary woman (Hepburn) must TOLERATE Mr. Arnaut (Bogart)
in their life-threatening trip down the river in a beat-up old boat, The African Queen, the fun begins. She can drum up no respect for this man--until she realizes that he is an intelligent person who may be able to save their lives by his cool wit. He good naturedly sloughs off her constant criticism, while she endures his slovenly ways and colorful language. ... Read More:

VHS : The Sound of Music
I've loved this movie since I was very young and was so happy when I could buy it on DVD for such a cheap price! I love the music and the story but what I loved about this version is the reunion of all of the actors and actress' still around in 2005! Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer, Charmain Carr, Nicholas Hammond, Heather Menzies, Duane Chase, Angela Cartwright, Debbie Turner and Kym Karath.
They all looked so happy to be with each other again and they made it look like they were the Von Trapp family again! ... Read More:

VHS : Casablanca (Aniv B&W)
The picture quality of this release of Casablanca is amazing. It is clearly the best quality ever made available to the public. (I'm anxious to read reviews of the new Blu-Ray release to learn whether there is any meaningful improvement over this fantastic version.)

Many believe "Casablanca" was the greatest movie of the 20th century. Its ending is perhaps the most moving of any movie. In the course of the film, the cynical, self-interest hero (Rick) gradually develops to a point where he realizes his own ... Read More:

VHS : The World At War - 9 Volume Gift Set
When I was a kid I was taken by the tales of courage and bravery that the movies and books feed people. I read about the fighter pilots and the Commandos. War was all excitement and friends looking out for friends.

Then one day the theme music of The World at War came on, the program launched straight in to archive footage of real battles, all the horror of mangled and mutilated bodies. I was mesmerized and that was the end of my warm and fluffy view of warfare. You only need to see a little bit of the real horror ... Read More:

I am going to start by saying that I am not a fan of war movies. This series is hands down the best war story I have ever seen. I think it is better than any other war movie or series that I have seen because it focuses on a variety of characters. It isn't just one or two main people. Everyone's flaws and fears and pain is so real. It's long, but you can't stop once you start. I have seen the series 3 times now, and I really want to get the Blu-Ray version and watch it again!

17.Stalin (1992) starring: Robert Duvall, Julia Ormond, Maximilian Schell, Jeroen Krabbé, Joan Plowright

VHS : Stalin (1992)
A true characterization of a truly pathetic individual. Historically, Stalin & Hitler were no more than two lost souls, losers in every way, that found a home in subjective, reactive rhetorical organizations.

Stalin used his power to turn his delusions into reality, and untold
horrors for the Russian people. This movie accurately portrays the
beast and his place in history.

I always have to debunk those negative remarks when it comes to military movies. First of all, the U.S. government is not going to allow a true movie to come about any mission. Secondly, the director got the idea from someone who was obviously involved in this situation so don't blame them, blame the person who told it. Black Hawk Down contained fallacies itself. Don't believe me? The next time you watch a "military" movie, watch it with a servicemember: They will find something wrong. ACTUAL REPRESENTATION IS NOT ALLOWED.

VHS : The Execution of Private Slovik
Private Eddie Slovik was the only Army deserter to be shot in WW II, the first since the Civil War. This TV film is a dramatization of the events. [No mention of the soldiers who were executed for murder or rape.] The red keystone patch on the shoulders identify their outfit. In reality, the firing squad had no regrets about their job, or so the books say. The beginning spends time on the details of the execution, slowing the pace. Then there are flashbacks to Slovik's past. Time in jail made him 4F, the war made jobs plentiful. Eddie tells ... Read More:
