Unlike other films, this one has an unnamed narrator--one of Poe's motifs--and closely follows the short story. It is black & white. I teach 10th grade and love to use this film. | If you enjoy Mystery Science Theatre 3000 and making fun of cheesy old movies with friends this one is perfect for you. Not a good or complete movie by anyone's standards, this is a delightful story of a pediophile rapist who we never learn the identity of because he is always in his car. Note: this isn't an evil car movie, there is somebody driving the car, we just never learn who it is. (I think it's the gymnastics coach). | This is one of the best films I've ever seen. There are two main types of science fiction, one trying to extrapolate real possibilites of existinc science with a taste for adventure. The other is an exploration of mankind from within using science fiction as a background. The first type is fun, but over time it becomes the "Buck Rogers", the "Jules Verne Steampunk" stuff. | I remembered watching this show at a real young age,and liking it.I used to be a huge Freddy freak,and still am.Though,I couldn't get into this like I did when I was younger.The movies have some cheesy effects,but the TV show is worse.Its violence and such is incredibly watered down.The blood looked like ketchup.Actually when one person was killed,it kind of squirted out like ketchup.This was just downright boring.I thought it'd give me a glimpse into some new info.,but it just shows what Freddy's Dead ... | The Satan Bug is an uncharacteristic Alistair Maclean movie in that ,unlike his biggest box office pictures, it is not a straightforward slice of heroics but a more nuanced espionage slanted movie with some moral ambivalence to it .It seems Maclean reciognised this too for he authored the book pseudonymously -as Ian Stuart.

| And very much like a gothic novel: a creepy atmosphere (think abandoned house next door), an insane woman with suspicious characters close to her, and very weird goings-on. Elizabeth Taylor was not always the best actress in the movies she played in, but in this one she really shines. It's a real surprise at the end, and with all the weird twists and turns, you never see it coming. Too bad this isn't on DVD; I'd love to own it instead of the ex-rental VHS I have. |

| 'Revenge of the Creature' is a pretty good sequel to the original but, there are several reasons for it not receiving a 5 star rating like the first movie. First of all, I find the changes to the Creature's head piece a big mistake. The "fish-like" eyes on the original were replaced with "bug-like" eyes or bulging eyes and the head is very fat and round shaped. This makes the Creature look sort of fake to me. They also didn't bring Ben Chapman back to play "The Gillman" on land in this film. I found the new actor to be ... Read More: |

| I enjoyed the film and found myself at the edge of my seat at times waiting to see what happened, which really surprised me. I guess I was, to be honest, expecting so little I really liked it. The storyline was different enough from any I had seen that it really piqued my interest. The highlight in the cast was Sheeri Rappaport, though, clearly the best actor in the film, and not just because of her nudity in the film She came across as very realistic.
