VHS : Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman
Before there was Freddy Vs Jason there was Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man. I suppose it was only fitting this would happen sooner or later seeing as Universal was behind the Monster movies so why not take advantage of it? This was the first of the crossover movies and quite possibly the best although this movie is far from perfect and does have its fair share of flaws.

Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein are two of the greatest horror flicks ever made due to the brilliant performance by ... Read More:

Alas! If this old charmer has been on your "once seen never forgotten' list, and you hope that remastering will bring it to you in improved quality, then you'll be disappointed. I didn't expect anything could be done to improve the stagey, static camera work, but I had hoped for improvement in the sound track. Ah, well, If you can get past these inadequacies, there is much to enjoy. It has an engaging story-line with similarities to Oscar Wilde's "The Canterville Ghost". René Clair, Alexander Korda and Mischa Spoliansky ... Read More:

The premise of the story contained in this DVD really pushes the envelope, in terms of believability. But, that makes watching it both startling and, at times, hilarious. The things that happen at the small "mom-and-pop" motel are such unlikely events. However, there are many moments of suspense, as well...

Here we find a group of 80s Yuppies heading off to the remote woods in search of beer drinking and hunting. It doesn't take long for them to get in trouble with the local rednecks. However, they have befriended a local guide who manages to protect them at every turn. Deeper in the woods the hillbillies get more scary and more violent... Look for a rare appearance from then unknown Billy Bob Thorton. Also, stars KIM DELANY as girlfriend ... Read More:

Looking back in time modern science fiction had one of its main scientists, writers, philosophers and visionaires in one name: Carl Sagan, the author of the novel in which is based the movie.

The making of the movie gives a very near and sub-realistic intent in the searching of "green littles", all right that maybe means "live in Mars", "Aliens" or just "ET's" but in a very intelligent secuence. Jodie Foster who interprets the scientist Eleanor Arroway and in along the movie is the principal character (since the beggining when she was a child), ... Read More:

I saw this in the theater in '75 and I've never forgotten it. An excellent reincarnation movie that feels very realistic!! Michael Sarrazin is a veteran actor but this is the film I remember him from the most (along with "Gumball Rally"! - I can't believe it's not yet on DVD.

VHS : The Changeling
This is a truly scary movie, in the old fashioned sense. That is to say, it makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up without the gut-wrenching gore that seems to permeate the newer installments of the horror genre.

George C. Scott and then-wife Trish Van Devere both do credit to their roles and Vancouver does a great job in its role of Seattle as well.

Loved this movie and plan to watch it every Hallowe'en.
