VHS : Star Wars Trilogy
The original Star Wars trilogy will always stand in first place for my sci-fi loving heart, when it comes to classic, wonderfully told space adventure. The special effects were groundbreaking at the time, and today, are just as powerful, though we would do them differently now. The characters are multi-dimensional, and the story of good vs. evil is masterfully played out. For anyone who loves sci-fi, this needs to be at the top of the list.

VHS : When Worlds Collide
I loved the book (and it's sequel, After Worlds Collide) when I was young. The movie is certainly not as good, but still a lot of fun. Its too bad they never made a movie of the sequel.

VHS : Santa Sangre
I saw Sante Sangre back in the early 90s in Tucson Arizona and walked out of the theater with my jaw dragging on the ground. The visuals of this film rival Fellini and the best visual artists. The depth of the material rivals the work of the worlds greatest symbolic psychologists, ala C. G. Jung. What this film is about is essentially the mental experiences of its main character, an insane circus performer who is traumatized by violence in his youth. He becomes a quietly obsesses serial killer who is possessed by his mother. ... Read More:

VHS : The Haunting of Julia
I saw part of this movie on TV when I was in college well over twenty years ago and the chilling images (some shown and some just implied) have stayed with me all this time. I was delighted to see my cable provider is showing it as part of the "on demand" feature and I finally watched the movie in it entirety this afternoon.

Mia Farrow is perfectly cast as poor vulnerable Julia an American heiress living in London with her husband who seems more interested in her cash than her. When their beloved eight year old daughter ... Read More:

Vampires & More! 20 Movie Pack
Dracula, prince of darkness was directed by Terence Fisher, who had guided Christopher Lee through his first performance as the blood-thirsty count. Yhis film was the first NOT to feature Dracula's nemesis Van Helsing(played by Peter Cushing). Instead vamoire-fighting expertise was supplied by Andrew Kier in the role of Father Shandor. Like Van Helsing, Shandor despises blind superstition, but recognizes the forces of evil and respects their power. Dracula, Prince of Darkness, is in many ways a ... Read More:

VHS : Island, The (1980)
With all the cheesey B Horror Movies out there, I'm surprised this has
never been released on DVD. I bet Attack of the Mushroom People is probably on DVD! Would some studio please release this to the people who remember this at the theater or saw it on VHS.

This was a Peter Benchley novel adapted to the screen after his huge
hits JAWS and The Deep played out well at the box office. I saw this at
a big screen theater, when it was released, before the days of the cineplex. What stands out are the character roles ... Read More:
