Deneuve is in a subdued role in this film. She's also in a supporting role so the film cover is a bit misleading. The story is not as strong as others that she's chosen.

Daniel Auteuil is great as the cop who is entangled in the life of a trouble-making young woman. Extremely sexy in this role, he plays the role of a strong yet conflicted law enforcer well.

The film is a bit weak in its flow. It's not the worst film but it's also not extremely good either.

VHS : Looking for Langston
In mainstream gay cinema, the images of the black gay man is somewhat controversial and contrived. Often, he is portrayed as the overly effete stereotype. For the sake of the dollar and to appeal to cross-cultural fetishistic interest to reach a wider audience, he is often shown preferring and seeking out the attentions of white gay men. Writer-director Isaac Julien's LOOKING FOR LANGSTON represents a departure from the status quo of the image of black gay men while also attempting to reclaim the black ... Read More:

The songs on this album never cease to make me smile and shake it for all its worth. The mental pictures from the film that each track conjures up is a bonus. Like Mr. Waters points out, these tunes are truly filthy!

VHS : When Night Is Falling
I think this is a good movie played very well and as noted by other reviewers great cinematography and some humor but it has some minuspoints as well. It misses drama. With this I don't mean sentimentality but rather the absence of intensity in the plot, it is more of a sketch than a fully colored, worked out storyline and I somehow felt that the movie rushes linearly to a predictable but rather unconvincing end without enough intensity, surprises or twists. As a viewer I just did not get the feeling that the choice ... Read More:

I watched this movie on the Logo channel. They may have taken some parts out I don't know.

Or let me say I hope they took some parts out. If this was the entire contents of the movie they need to add some parts in.

It starts out ok with this cute girl who's a lawyer and other nice looking girls in that same building.

Almost immediately she starts having hallucinations about people who aren't real that sneak up behind her and choke her, etc..

Ok it's getting better ... Read More:

I bought this DVD because i'd previously seen the movie and loved it. It has comedy, romance, poetry... all of this in an environment that contains peer pressure and all of those other great things about high school. I've seen Lost and Delirious many times and still haven't gotten bored with it...

VHS : Trick (1999)
I bought this movie by accident, thinking it was "Tricks." I am not gay but I have written operas and a musical and I could sympathise with the hero. I have had a friend like the girl. The go-go dancer was beautifully played. I liked the song "Enter You." Non-gays should see this for a look into the gay life which is very much like straight life.
