VHS : And the Band Played On
I had to review this movie for on of my graduate classes. I had seen it in the past, but did not remember all of the details. I really enjoyed seeing it for the second time.

***This review was copied here from an Epinions review I wrote***

Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.
I'm not sure I have the mental capacity to do this film justice in a review, it's that good on so many levels.

Entertaining not only with it's humor (mostly due to Richard Burton's excellent portrayal of the "Rev. Dr. T. Lawrence Shannon", recently defrocked for falling prey to his lusty appetites as a man) but also for the depth with which ... Read More:

VHS : The Incredibly True Adventures of Two Girls in Love
I love this movie for many years. I saw The Incredibly True Adventures... on czech channel maybe about 8 years ago and I love it. I saw many movies with "L" theme but this is one of the best! No cheap hollywood movie, but great independant film. Both young actresses (Laurel Holloman and Nicole Parker) are really amazing, so naturely, so talented and the story is so nice and "clear". (sorry for my english ;)

25.Change of Heart starring: Change of Heart

VHS : Change of Heart
CHANGE OF HEART has a well-written script (Aaron Mendelsohn) and a well-directed (Arvin Brown) cast of professional actors that bravely tackles a subject that most movies made for television avoid - the impact that coming out of the closet of a bisexual father has on him, on his work, and most importantly, on his wife and children.

Yes, this theme has been used before, but the films resulting are usually relegated to the art houses. Kudos to the people responsible for bringing this contorversial subject ... Read More:

26.Maybe... Maybe Not starring: Til Schweiger, Katja Riemann, Joachim Król, Rufus Beck, Armin Rohde
directed by: Sönke Wortmann

VHS : Maybe... Maybe Not
There is only one reason to watch this film: sexy Til Schweiger. He has beauty and magnetism, besides being an extraordinary young actor with subtlety, power, and depth. Unfortunately, these qualities are all but lost in this heavy-handed comedy. It is beautifully shot but, considering its comedic intent, rather darkly. The story and its underlying principles leave much to be desired.

Handsome Axel (Schweiger) works in a 30's-style supper club, presumably to remind us of the wacky social farces of that period. ... Read More:

VHS : Heavenly Creatures
Peter Jackson's savagely brilliant `Heavenly Creatures' has to be his finest cinematic moment. Sure, he astounded millions (and won Oscars) for his `Lord of the Rings' trilogy, but he has never been as honest and as human as he was with his delicate handling of this startling true life story.

The film opens with a sequence as shocking as its conclusion; the image of two blood soaked teenage girls floating across the screen. This opening lays a solid foundation for the masterpiece we are about to witness. `Heavenly Creatures' ... Read More:

28.Sister My Sister starring: Julie Walters, Joely Richardson, Jodhi May, Sophie Thursfield, Amelda Brown
directed by: Nancy Meckler
November 19, 1996

VHS : Sister My Sister
Sister My Sister is a very well-made and well-acted film; however, the DVD quality is below average in both picture and sound; that's why I've given it three stars. It's a shame that some companies ruin good films by producing substandard DVDs. The DVD is in 4:3 aspect ratio.

29.Philadelphia starring: Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, Roberta Maxwell, Buzz Kilman, Karen Finley
directed by: Jonathan Demme
February 14, 1995
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Philadelphia
This is, by far, one of the best movies. The story is moving, and will have you in tears multiple times. Tom truelly shines, and is one of the few actors that you no longer see as a person, but as their character. Very emersed. This will also question your thoughts and beliefs, and possibly make you reconsider the next time youre about to make a snap judgement.

30.Teresa's Tattoo starring: Matt Adler, C. Thomas Howell, Nancy McKeon, Lou Diamond Phillips, Casey Siemaszko
directed by: Julie Cypher
February 28, 1995
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Teresa's Tattoo
This is a fast-paced, hilarious film with an interesting history. I initially purchased it because kd lang had a role in it, and she is absolutely a scream as a pious, "Born Again" fervent Christian aunt who tries to give Teresa advice. Julie Cypher (Lee Diamond Phillips & Melissa Etheridge's Ex) directed this funny film that is very entertaining. Melissa Etheridge provides a great soundtrack with several original songs. Nancy McKeon is in a comical supporting role as Teresa's friend and sidekick. What starts off as Teresa and her friend going to an All-Girl party ends ... Read More:
