VHS : Circuit (Rated)
A small town gay cop leaves Indiana for WeHo and ends up leading the debauched lifestyle of a "circuit boy." Interesting storyline, solid message and some okay performances are all marred by the unnecessary inclusion of artsy, overlong, softcore-style sex scenes (a la Queer as Folk) which distract from the plot and generally cheapen the proceedings. Despite the gratuitous, cheesy sex, a number of extraneous sub-plots and a corny ABC afterschool special ending, it's still marginally diverting.

The was no content and no point to this documentary/ movie. Stupid indulgence by the director of another movie who thought he could make a movie out of the outtakes of the original. Meaningless Rubbish

VHS : Poison (1991) (Unrated)
Filmed in 1990, POISON was an extremely obscure art house film--until Senator Jessie Helms, a hysterical homophobe, threw a public temper tantrum over the fact that it had been financed in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Helm's tirade had the effect of piquing public curiosity, and while it never played mainstream cinemas POISON did indeed go on to a wider release on the art house circuit, winning the Grand Jury Prize at the 1991 Sundance Film Festival and receiving an unexpectedly rapid ... 195.Satan's Brew starring: Kurt Raab, Margit Carstensen, Helen Vita, Volker Spengler, Ingrid Caven

VHS : Satan's Brew
This film makes me laugh out loud every time I see it. Kurt Raab really brings down the house here - in this intelligent comedy about loss of identity. This has a lot of the same charm as Almodovar's 'What Have I Done to Deserve This' (in fact, I would suggest that movie as a companion piece to this one)

Fassbinder's films always abound with intelligence and esoteric meaning - I have seen this movie several times and would watch it again at the drop of a hat - I always catch little things I did not notice before. ... Read More:

I liked it very much. Very thought provoking. Love scenes were a little too graphic for my tastes, but they were a small part of the film. The rest was really terrific.

VHS : Out of the Past - The Struggle for Gay and Lesbian Rights in America
This DVD was shown at a campus-wide event sponsored by the Ally Group called "DocuMovie Night". Reception of the message was fantastic. Everyone present enjoyed all of the facts and ideas presented and we had a great discussion following.
The meshing of historical attempts at GLBT movements with the struggle of a 90s high school student's confrontation with a 'solid wall of ignorance' was truly inspiring.

I found this picture ten years after it was released and it is as fresh as if it were made this year. The plot is not new, but the fact that it is handled with loving expertise by director Mignatti makes the story seem fresh and new. The acting is excellent and the production values are good. The entire cast works on the same professional level. The original songs and soundtrack are refreshing. I'll admit, it may take a romantic to love this film. I've watched it several time, and like all good cinema, it only gets better with repeated viewing. ... Read More:

Pshaw! Mishima, Sergei Eisenstein, Dorian Gray [why not Wilde?], and so on and so on and so on meet after death in Canada to patrol the male myth of public restroom crusing. Hmmm - a touching experience? Naat reahly folks! There is not even one moment of verite - a few brave souls who have been arrested [evidence on videotape] do speak out about their misfortunes, but that's about it. With some cutting, it could be an informative half an hour movie on this subject. It is a good little conversation piece to have on one's shelf though. Other movies have ... Read More:

I started watching the film with the intent that I was not going to like it. I put the DVD in the player and as soon as it started, a disclaimer from the producer came up. It said that this was his first film and there were problems with it as there are problems with all "first films". So, that told me that the other reviewers here were expecting a high budget film which it isn't. I thought the film was very put together and made alot of sense. It was a story of the main actor's love, lose and letting go do to AIDS. I usually avoid these type of films ... Read More:
