| This is a lighthearted, fun and lively video showing the daily care of horses. My two toddlers adore horses, and I couldn't wait to pop this tape in to capture their attention with live action. Though the scenes are authentic and there is much to learn from the animal's characteristics to how to bathe and brush them, the picture quality is so poor that it makes watching it in its entirey a real chore. IT REALLY HELD THE ATTENTION OF STUDENTS WITH ITS FRANK CAPRA FORMAT AND ITS HOST, DR. FRANK BAXTER. MANY SCHOOLS STILL USE THIS MOVIE, 43 YEARS LATER.IT HAS GOOD ANIMATION, A GOOD SOUNDTRACK AND MR. | Although this movie is old and incredibly boring to sit through (I had a hard time keeping my eyes open every time), my little guy would sit absolutely still and stare at the kids every time. He's older now, so it doesn't have the same effect, but as a 4 month-year old, I used this to entertain him so I could get things done or calm him down. If nothing else, it's fun to judge how cute your kid is compared to some of those baby mugs! :) |

DK uses such bright colors in their books and videos-it really holds her attention while she learns something. They do talk about slash & burn in the rainforest, so if your child has a fire phobia, you may want to pick another video. (It has a happy ending, but some kids are really sensitive.) |
