VHS : The Best of On the Road With Charles Kuralt
Charles Kuralt was the poet of small town America the way Vin Scully is the poet of Dodger Stadium. Relaxed, warm, folksy and deceptively insightful. He had a way of setting you at ease and somehow convincing you that the entire cosmos could be found in the minutia of this one fleeting moment. His beloved little program, 'ON THE ROAD' (1967-80) in which he traveled the backroads of America in a motorhome to show us the real heart of the country was eagerly anticipated by countless people every ... my 15 month old son is absolutely entranced with the show and with this video. He brings it to me and asks for it without words as often as he can find the case--and I enjoy it too! It's enjoyable, doesn't talk down and is very informative! A family favorite!

Perhaps we need this mind-set of Peace

There has to be a better solution to keep this
Country safe (other than WAR)!

Weapons of the Spirit is the story of a small French town that saved at least 3000 Jews during the Second World War. Their history as a Heugenot (Protestant) community that had endured centuries of persecution and their reverence for the people of the Old Testament (the Jews) combined with their strong sense of justice made them just naturally protect the most vulnerable at great risk to themselves. The video asks relevant questions for today. Who will stand up for the most vulnerable today? What makes one group put themselves ... Read More:

VHS : Guyana Tragedy: Story of Jim Jones
Great actors in this movie, ie..James E. Jones, Rosalind Cash, Irene Cara to say the least. I first saw this movie back in '80. I was a child then and didn't understand much but do remember this storyline being quite chilling. Now many years later I've taken a renewed interest in this story. I've been listening lately to live audio of Jones' sermons and recordings as well as archival footage.
What I don't care much about this movie is the fact that Boothe has no physical resemblance or personality of Jones. I don't think he was ... Read More:

VHS : Zoboomafoo - Sense-Sational Animal Friends
Zoboomafoo is entertaining, funny, and packed with information about animals. The Kratt brothers combine just the right amount of silly antics with real educational material and close-up encounters with all kinds of animals. See also my review of Zoboomafoo - Look Who's Home. This is quality educational programming that won't drive Mom or Dad crazy -- highly recommended.

VHS : Walt Disney's True Life Adventures - The Living Desert
As a youth, I remember watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" (which, if I'm not mistaken, was later renamed "The Wonderful World of Color"). It was on every Sunday night and would feature cartoons, a serial program like "Davie Crocket: King of the Wild Frontier", or any variety of other Disney-worthy productions including a number of nature programs. I believe it was on that TV show that I first saw "The Living Desert". It won an Academy Award for Best Feature-Length Documentary in 1953.

The photography is the key ... Read More:

I agree with everybody that has posted reviews about this movie, but the ones that have only 1 or 2 stars. In the style of Gone With the Wind, the novel shows how families were at first united, then separated during the conflict. I am familiar with the historical facts and that is why I could follow the locations and time, but someone who has not read the book or know little about the true facts would be a little lost. I was lucky to get this movie on DVD. The sound and the colors are great, the photography is very good, the landscapes and the sets believable, ... Read More:
