VHS : Tommy
It would be difficult to overestimate the impact TOMMY had when hit movie screens in 1975, and if you were alive at the time you knew of the movie, knew of the stars, and very likely heard some of the music--whether you wanted to or not. It was ubiquitious; it was inevitable; it was also very exciting. But time, as one rock and roller once noted, was waiting in the wings. Seen today, TOMMY is less of a success than we thought it was at the time, a mixed bag of music, singers, and imagery, some of it very ... Read More:

This review is for the Genius 40th edition. Cover, film quality, and extras all excellent. NOTLD is a 1 zombie film, and need to be treated with respect. I own this movie on vhs, and dvd. So far the Genius Extreme is the best. NO TRUE HORROR FAN SHOULD BE WITHOUT THIS MOVIE!

VHS : Chopper Chicks in Zombietown
Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town, like many Troma movies, all depends on if you like them or not. I love them, so I think this is great. I was fortunate enough to see the premier in 1991.

VHS : Dead Alive (Unrated) (Sp)
this is without a doubt the greatest horror movie of all time. never ever watch the rated version because it is missing 10 min worth of glorious little 2 to 10 second frames of absolute bloody horror goodness. without these scenes it becomes the WORST horror movie of all time and destroys all hope for a better world and not to mention a great film watching experience.

88.Badlands (Aniv Rmst) starring: Dona Baldwin, Ramon Bieri, Ben Bravo, John Carter (IV), Charles Fitzpatrick

VHS : Badlands (Aniv Rmst)
Recently watching Badlands for the second time, I was less impressed than after the original viewing. But I figure enough people have given their reasons for liking or not liking the movie, so instead I'll throw out a couple thoughts upon watching it. For one, the couple is never in the actual Badlands of the Dakotas. They spend all their time on the Plains, unless I'm mistaken, whether it's the town they first live in, their holdout by the river, or their drive through the flat landscape. Badlands may be a purely metaphorical title, but ... Read More:

89.Hotel Exotica starring: Landon Hall, Dutch Flaherty, Ahmo Hight, Chris Johnston, Taylor St. Clair

VHS : Hotel Exotica
The DVD is an edited version of the film. All of the erotic scenes are cut out.

The original VHS is the version you want to see. I don't know where you can buy it, but believe me, it doesn't show on Cinemax anymore for a reason-it was too hot for tv.

Don't blame the director-she didn't have anything to do with the editing of what they are calling the "director's cut."

90.Solaris starring: Natalya Bondarchuk, Donatas Banionis, Jüri Järvet, Vladislav Dvorzhetsky, Nikolai Grinko
directed by: Andrei Tarkovsky

VHS : Solaris
Tarkovsky's SOLARIS got a bit of a resurgance in popularity, due no doubt to the remake of the film with George Clooney. The "Hollywood USA" Solaris, when compared to the "USSR" SOLYARIS, tells more about the contrast between the American way of seeing the world, including cinema, and the Russian Weltanschauung. With Hollywood SOLARIS, you have a very linear plot, lots of emotional development between Chris and his wife, including Gabarian, during the initial earth scenes, wierd plot twists and characters revelations at the space station, and obvious ...
