| this is without a doubt the greatest horror movie of all time. never ever watch the rated version because it is missing 10 min worth of glorious little 2 to 10 second frames of absolute bloody horror goodness. without these scenes it becomes the WORST horror movie of all time and destroys all hope for a better world and not to mention a great film watching experience. |

| Recently watching Badlands for the second time, I was less impressed than after the original viewing. But I figure enough people have given their reasons for liking or not liking the movie, so instead I'll throw out a couple thoughts upon watching it. For one, the couple is never in the actual Badlands of the Dakotas. They spend all their time on the Plains, unless I'm mistaken, whether it's the town they first live in, their holdout by the river, or their drive through the flat landscape. | The DVD is an edited version of the film. All of the erotic scenes are cut out.
The original VHS is the version you want to see. I don't know where you can buy it, but believe me, it doesn't show on Cinemax anymore for a reason-it was too hot for tv. Don't blame the director-she didn't have anything to do with the editing of what they are calling the "director's cut." |
