| Yes, the movie was done on a shoestring budget, and some of the acting is very average. But there are a few things people miss. There is about three minutes total of nongun violence. This is NOT a kick-fest.
The townies vs the commune people conflict is a bit simple, but things like this really do happen, especially in small towns. Heck, look at the civil rights demonstrations in the 50's and 60's if you want to see real examples of "good folk" who will kill and bully people ... Read More: |

| I can only guess. It's not released due to hints of beastiality in the movie Island of Lost Souls??? IF so that's just rubbish.
Island of Lost Souls is a great, classic Friday night B&W horror flick that no collection should be without. Period. But we are forced to have a VHS or cheap bootleg. | I think that this was weird that this was a Paramount movie and the tag line said Dimension Diversion On Miramax Films. This was 1993 movie, DVD Release 1993 94 minutes long ( very rare ). Region 2 didn't have near good effects. Micahs Transformation wasn't on R.2, when Micah gets hit by eletric bolt he screams and on R.2 he doesn't, then his voice gets real deep at the end not on R.2, then when the face appears on Micah his face changes shape before the devil appears. | Just because you like ice cream and tomato sauce doesn't mean you should mix 'em together. I think that's what happened here. I couldn't imagine not liking a movie with Neil Young, Devo, Dennis Hopper, Dean Stockwell, etc.... well, live and learn. The pieces of this movie don't hang together well. It's like there were two different films and someone just mashed them together with no regard for whether or not they would fit.
