Now this movie is one baad muther-shut-your mouth! I thought this was an excellent movie that tried to portray the life of a private detective in the Harlem of the early 70's in a gritty and hence more realistic manner. As a result, this movie is certainly dated and unmistakenably of that time and place as witnessed by the lingo and slang used liberally throughout and yet I found it still very enjoyable to watch even today.

This cat Shaft reminded me a lot of Humphrey Bogart's character ... Read More:

Its a good old Biker flick with cool bikes and scenery if you just kick back with a 12 pack, "get loaded" , and enjoy it. Like the "Wild One", the star(Peter Fonda) is not actually the best. Bruce Dern makes the Movie.

O.K. Anyone that knows of Russ Myers work (faster, kill, etc) this is a great flick, Well, we know Russ was a Breast man. And the openess of the late 60's & 70's shows in his films. Bad effects, bad acting, and cheesey plots to get people naked. "pizza Delivery" "Did someone call for a Plumber to clean her pipes?" LOL.
Just roll with it,. Show your 17+ year old what we call pornographic for the time,. If you can find a copy in BETA, and a player, like I saw it in '74 or sometime..

This was a truly excellent movie, a gangster flick drawing heavily from the blaxploitation genre. Fred Williamson plays Tommy Gibbs, a young tough who works his way from shoeshine/mob messenger boy to crime boss. He uses the Italian mob and the corrupt cop who beat him severely as a teenager to gain a foothold and then turns the tables on all of them. None of it seems to matter, though, as he still can't satisfy the women in his life, no matter what he can give them. As his world begins to crumble around Tommy, ... Read More:

I bought this movie because I remembered watching it when I was younger, and thought my son might like to see it. He, and I have watched it about 7 or 8 times since we received it. He loves it as much as I did when I was his age. John Cusack is so funny! It really is a great movie if you like over the top comedy.

I was always a big fan of really hokey horror movies and I saw this one a long time ago and couldnt remember the name of it. Thanks to Google and countless hours digging through actors, I found it. And it was just as good as when I first saw it, especially the scene in the hot rod on the bridge!!!

VHS : Dolemite 2 - The Human Tornado
What is the question that will forever be the Dolemite aficionado. A burning question guranteed to forever split both sides of the debate.[No, its not that serious] Just which Dolemite movies are better than the other. Is it Dolemite or the Human Tornado? For me it was the Dolemite over the Human Tornado. The Humando tornado starts off as a F5 but by the closing credits it whimpers into a FO. What hinders the film is both sluggish pace and lack of funny lines from Rudy Ray Moore. The films does have some interesting material[such as the Mrs. ... Read More:

I enjoyed this movie very much and will watch it off and on over the years! Had some dramatic/scary moments, but nothing that we havent all seen at one time or another. I was glad to get this at a bargain along with some other classics here at Amazon. For a very good, fairly light gore, interesting and entertaining, horror flick, check this baby out!!!

VHS : Mothra (1961)
Pros of Mothra/Mosura:

*Different storyline from Rodan
*Same effects from TOHO
*A new monster

Cons:

*Geared for kids not adults
*Not as dark
*Mothra not as menacing as Godzilla

Another monster movie by Toho directed by Ishiro Honda. I've always found Mothra to be probably the weakest monster of the TOHO franchise. It's not menacing, it's powers are somewhat limited and it's slow.

Watching this I could tell it was geared more for a kids audience (the usual complaint given to ... Read More:
