VHS : Blade Runner
99% of the time when I buy a "Directors Cut", the movie is improved and usually the added footage makes it more enjoyable if you are a big fan of the movie anyway. This is a completely different movie. It's funny; the one thing in the original movie that has been copied in countless movies is the narrative "feel", and this has been removed in the directors cut. I am going to try to sell this because I will never watch it again.

VHS : Haunted Palace (1963)
An American couple travel abroad to haunted olde England to claim an inheritance, which is a strikingly beautiful castle high up on a hill overlooking a gloomy peasant village.

When entering the town pub for some directions, the resident drunken peasants are rude, fearful, & stuporstitious, when finally, a doctor explains the peasants' actions, & guides them to their inheritance.

The castle carries a nefarious connotation, a veritable "place that god forsook", where a Warlock ... Read More:

VHS : I, a Woman
Its plot is now a cliche and a staple of late night Cinemax movies. But there was a time when cinema was trying to seriously explore adult themes. And in the 1960's one of the most important of these was "I,a Woman".
The plot is quite simple. A naive woman, raised in a Christian family decides to break away and explore her sexuality by having sex with as many men as possible. What makes it special is the almost quaint quality the movie projects. And, of course, the presence of a an amazingly beautiful and special actress ... Read More:

VHS : Showgirls
Showgirls was never going to win any Academy Awards and I give Elizabeth Berkley credit for overcoming this film and going on to do good work on CSI:Miami and in other movies.

But Showgirls is a scorching hot mess telling the story of Nomi Malone, a down-on-her-luck, ill-bred, poorly educated girl who dreams of being a professional dancer.

It's a hootchiefied Flash Dance, with Las Vegas as the setting. If breasts and bums are your thing, I highly recommend watching this movie with the sound off. If you ... Read More:

VHS : Evil Dead II
I did a blind buy on the Blue ray version, and its a good thing that I'm a fan of the movie (but then who else would buy this in any format) because the DNR makes the faces smooth and washes out most of the detail, its so clean it looks unnatural. This should be a $10 catalog buy.

146.Coffy starring: Pam Grier, Booker Bradshaw, Robert DoQui, William Elliott, Allan Arbus
directed by: Jack Hill

VHS : Coffy
WHOA! The hottest of the hot. It's Coffy!

Blistering action, unbridled suspense, nerve-wracking energy, and an abundance of beautiful barenaked ladies. What more can you ask for?

Tough as nails, mad as a hornet, and as sexy as yours truly, Coffy embarks on a chaotic estrogen-erupting revenge rampage after some drug pushers dope up her little sister.

Film god/geek Quentin Tarantino calls this "one of the most entertaining movies ever made". He ain't B.S.'n. This movie rules!

Shootouts, ... Read More:

147.Fearless Vampire Killers starring: Alfie Bass, Sydney Bromley, Otto Diamant, Terry Downes, Ronald Lacey

VHS : Fearless Vampire Killers
This an older vampire movie, starring Sharon Tate, which incorporates wonderful scenery with old castles surrounded by snow capped mountains.
Unlike the blood and gore horror films of today, this movie offers comic releif, from the gay vampire to the Jewish vampire who laughs when presented with a cross.
From the small village to the stone castle, this movie is a visual delight.

148.The Return of Superfly starring: Nathan Purdee, Margaret Avery, Leonard L. Thomas, Christopher Curry, Carlos Carrasco

VHS : The Return of Superfly
I miss Ron O'Neil. He was Superfly. In this one we get Nathan Purdee who does extremely well with what he's given but it's just not the same as having Ron in the role. But Purdee is cool and does his best to make this a decent flick and I appreciate that.
The reviewer who said that in this one Priest "works with the cops" is incorrect. The cops try to force him to work for them and Priest REFUSES. He handles things HIS WAY. That's exactly how it should be.
The original Superfly was about a clever man who wanted out of "the life" and the soundtrack ... Read More:

149.Night of Living Dead (1990) starring: Tony Todd, Patricia Tallman, Tom Towles, McKee Anderson, William Butler

VHS : Night of Living Dead (1990)
I love Tom Savini's remake. I like how this time Barbara is a much stronger character than a bumbling freakout in the original. This time played by Patricia Tallman (professional stuntwoman). The effects and acting are wonderful. In no way is this better than the original. However, it is a nice facelift.

150.Embrace of the Vampire (Unrated) starring: Martin Kemp, Rebecca Ferratti, Glori Gold, Seana Ryan, Sabrina Allen

VHS : Embrace of the Vampire (Unrated)
Embrace of the Vampire is a ultra-sexy thriller that stars Alyssa Milano and Martin Kemp. Despite its stupid performances, the film actually made complete sense, and was sexy non-stop. I recommend this film to any fan of erotica.
