VHS : The Final Programme
I suppose I'm lucky I hadn't read this in book form prior to seeing it on HBO in the 70's. My daughter and I must have watched it 10 times. It is crazy-fun, whacky, so silly and charming, yet dark - Clockwork Orangeish mixed with Dr. Strangelove but not. Michael Moorcock is one of my favorite sci fi authors and this film (though I gather he hates) really captures how funny he is in the most unexpected of ways. If you love the odd, get it.

VHS : Phantom of the Paradise
While I can't quite give this movie 5 stars, it is a really interesting combination of several elements. ('Phantom of the Opera,' 'Faustus,' 'Picture of Dorian Gray,' 70s styles, 70s music, and even an interesting foreshadow of 80s music.)

The movie starts innocently enough with a 50s style song. (Though the lyrics to the song kind of foreshadow the tragic end.) We then see Phil asking his boss Swan to wreck a star that he feels double crossed him. (Immediately, the dark characters of Phil and Swan ... Read More:

VHS : Big Bird Cage
Toning things down a bit from Big Doll House, Hill returned to his old stomping grounds the following year to make The Big Bird Cage, essentially a spoof of the WIP genre. If you don't take it too seriously and can handle a few sudden 180-degree mood swings, it's one of the most entertaining and certainly best-made women's prison movies of the 1970's. Somewhere on a dictatorially reigned tropical island, American actress Terry (Anita Ford) is taken hostage by revolutionary Django (Sid Haig), when he pulls of a heist on a bar with ... Read More:

VHS : Children of the Corn
This film is an absolute classic. I've seen this film numerous times and I never get tired of it. Both Courtney Gains (Malichi) and John Franklin (Issac) are great actors who should have won awards for their performances. On top of the acting, my copy of this film is autographed by the music composer, who is also my science teacher's husband. So that fact alone make this film extra special to watch.

106.Porky's starring: Dan Monahan, Mark Herrier, Wyatt Knight, Roger Wilson, Cyril O'Reilly

VHS : Porky's
I first saw this movie when it came out and it is still funny. Some of the moments are classic; i.e. paging Mike Hunt, Kim Catrall, shower scene, etc... Much better than the two sequels.

107.Frogs starring: Ray Milland, Sam Elliott, Joan Van Ark, Adam Roarke, Judy Pace
directed by: George McCowan

VHS : Frogs
This is NOT a great movie by any stretch of the imagination but it's a lot of fun to watch. I find myself doing my own MST3K type schtick during campy B films and Frogs provides perfect fodder. Go into it knowing what it is and you'll probably enjoy it. But if you're buying or renting a "horror" film called Frogs you probably have some idea what to expect.

108.Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) starring: Kevin McCarthy, Dana Wynter, Larry Gates, King Donovan, Carolyn Jones

Why this isn't out on DVD--even some cheapo non-remastered version--is a complete mystery. It's a hoot; a nice blending of Japanese and Italian sci-fi of that time. The monsters are goofy, but in a seriously disturbing way, and the film actually has a few weirdly nightmarish moments. I'd rank this in the top-twenty of hip gonzo 60s sci-fi.

A good pack of reviews for a film that doesn't exist any more. Maybe someone will notice and do something about it. But what somebody should really do though is get some of this stuff back on cable ... Read More:

This movie is a very fun and enjoyable film. It takes me back to when I was younger and watched it and I enjoy it just as much now as I did then. The soundtract is amazing and the songs are fun to get up and dance to.
