| This movie is my favorite blaxploitation flick of all time...the big problem is that the xenon versions of the movie are cut. There's some sleazy video store in the neighborhood that has the un-cut vhs version. I have no idea why xenon buys the rights then cuts up the film. |

| Instead of giving props to the movie, which was marginal at best. I'll speak on the costume designer. Bravo for the clothes...they were "Out Of Sight!" Also, Priest's car was the sickest car I've ever seen in my life...I want one. |

| The songs on this album never cease to make me smile and shake it for all its worth.The mental pictures from the film that each track conjures up is a bonus. Like Mr. Waters points out, these tunes are truly filthy! |

| this is a fantastic movie. it's campy and fun and very positive. this movie is a well known and much loved classic. it's entertaining for adults and appropriate for kids (if you're familiar with john waters and have some reservations) my preteen daughter showed it to her friends at her birthday party, and all the girls got up to try out the dances and giggled their heads off. how anyone could even think of comparing it to the travolta crap is beyond me, let alone like the other one better. this is the movie that started ... | Terry Gilliam's unique satire is as funny as it is absurd and dark. With the character of Sam Lowry he created the perfect anti-hero, not in the least thanks to the brilliant performance by Jonathan Pryce.
Equally well known is the conflict that Gilliam had to enter into to get his movie released as he wanted it, because the studio heads suddenly got not only cold feet but also the crazy notion to have a happy ending and drastically make cuts in the movie to make it shorter. | Despite the rediculously inaccurate box-art, this is an excellent, excellent party film. The title "In Your Face" exists only on the box and video itself, for when you pop it into the VCR you are immediately greeted with the true title, "ABAR". Grin with glee as our hero, ABAR, sticks it to the suckas who are trying to run a black doctor out of a white neighborhood. | I can't believe I've watched this movie from time to time for 30 years now and it's STILL timelessly funny. The 1970's stand-up duo who sold thousands of comedy albums hit paydirt with their first movie, Up In Smoke. Followed by five sequels, this first film is considered by most to be their absolute best. And you didn't have or had to be in the "pot-culture lifestyle" to get the jokes either. A true comedy classic.
