| I give this 5 stars not just for being a masterpiece of a story but also as a wonderful trip to Florence (and the english countryside). Julian Sands and Helena Bonham Carter fans will also be pleased. |

| At first I didn't know quiet what to make of this movie. Jeremy Irons sure does have the talent to play "STRANGE" beyond words. I don't own the VHS, I have a movie on a CD, but still this is quiet an interesting movie. To love someone for 18 years and NOT know they are man, only proves, "Love is blind". | I had the VHS tapes of Poldark I and Poldark 2, but gave them away as I no longer have a VCR and I was sure they would be made available on DVD sooner or later. Woe is me, that hasn't happened yet and I'm hysterical now that I don't have the tapes because they would be worth buying a VCR to see them. There must be others like me who would relish seeing this fabulous series on DVD. Please, whoever's in charge of such things, release this series on DVD and it will sell like hotcakes. |

| Just want to say how happy I am to see that finally this most excellent movie will be on DVD. I see it's being offered on ebay by a guy in England, the package says it's a Columbia Classics, so will we get it in the States soon? I sure hope so, our 3rd VHS tape of this movie has had it. | For one whom has read the book, the movie captures the essence of the story - chivalry, romance, prejudice, and action. The actors in the movie did an excellent job. The character Ivanhoe was well portrayed and the relationship between Rebecca and Ivanhoe was well developed and believable. The movie addressed all the key activities within the book and succeeded in presenting the story without the audience feeling like the story was being rush.

| I purchased this adaption of Little Dorrit several years ago on laserdisc and I enjoyed it, but I found that to fully appreciate this film it was necessary to watch it to the end. The point to this film adaption of a Dicken's book was to tell the same story twice but through differing viewpoints. Certainly the story is not as interesting or as gripping as Dickens more widely read novels and the film could have been improved by cutting and picking up the pace, but I believe the director accomplished his goal.
