| Have no idea when I last saw this film, but decided to watch it before my first trip to Rome. It is a delight and Lanza is in great form. The songs were wonderful and the scenery beautiful creating a very enjoyable film. I'll be very disappointed if someone doesn't break out in song during my visit!! |

| This is a movie for any fan of period stories, especially those interested in tales of love and romance. The performances in this film are exceptional. It's noteworthy that the love portrayed here is not only the deeply romantic love between a man and woman, but also the intense love between parent and child. It is a tremendous shame that this wonderful film is not yet available on DVD for American audiences! |

| This movie is to me Andrei Konchalovsky at his very best.

| Your level of enjoyment will probably depend on how much you appreciate Zappa and his particular brand of [...]. As a movie musical, it seems at times to be a parody of the genre while simultaneously stretching the form well beyond its normal parameters. | I've watched my video copy of this movie twice. Enjoyed it both times. Plot may be kind of crazy, but so what? It's still a fun movie. The plot has been described successfully by another reviewer, so I'll not waste time describing it again.
