VHS : Stalin (1992)
A true characterization of a truly pathetic individual. Historically, Stalin & Hitler were no more than two lost souls, losers in every way, that found a home in subjective, reactive rhetorical organizations.

Stalin used his power to turn his delusions into reality, and untold
horrors for the Russian people. This movie accurately portrays the
beast and his place in history.

"Hear My Song" (1992), an Irish film, a romantic musical comedy/drama, was written by its star, Adrian Dunbar, with Peter Chelsom, its first-time director, and is filmed on location in gritty Liverpool, England, and the lovely Irish countryside. It's based on the life story of the Irish tenor Josef Locke, born Joseph McLaughlin, who knew great success in England, but was driven back to his home country by the tax man.

Adrian Dunbar, a frequently-seen actor, plays Micky O'Neill, who has leased ... Read More:

On Her Majesty's Secret Service - 2-Disc Ultimate Edition
I think GEORGE LAZENBY is the BEST BOND EVER. Too bad that Albert R. Brocolli and Harry Saltzman decided to chuck this Australian car salesman, after his one-time appearance as James Bond. Diana Rigg IS the prettiest Bond Girl. Louis Armstrong sings: 'We have all the time in the world'. Telly Savalas makes a terrific Ernest Stavro Blofeld. There is a tremondous Ice-Skating sequence, that has yet to be repeated. Many viewvers even from India, would ... Read More:

I saw this in a theater way back in the 50's and liked it then. This new DVD release looks even better than that old "big" screen movie version. The VHS version satisfied for a while, but the DVD is superior, just as one would expect it to be. The final scene is truly remarkable considering it was done long before computer generated imaging. Must be seen to be believed. If you're a kid, or have one, it's a must for your collection!

Tango Lesson
Is only for tangueros - it illustrates a one woman obsession
with the dance. Hence it's quite limited and you must
be very interested in Tango/Milonga to get anything from it.

VHS : Literary Masterpieces: The Count of Monte Cristo
I saw this when it was first shown on US television in about 1975 and was amazed by the storyline and the acting. I had seen Chamberlain in his TV series, but this film allowed him a vast range of emotions and exercises which the Tv show did not. I had not read the novel then, of course.

Relatively, this is the video version people should watch. I videotaped it a couple of times (once the result was not so great) and watch it sporadically since. The book I read in 1989 on a commuter train between Sunnyvale and San Carlos - commuter ... Read More:

I remember watching this movie as a kid. It really has memorable songs, and cute aspects that make an otherwise violent subject (prohibition-era gangsters) humorous. It was cool finding a clean DVD.

VHS : Magnificent Seven
This movie was made in the days before film-makers realized that people were sophisticated enough to recognize corn when they saw it. Horz Bucholz's impetuous kid act was just total corn. Talk about bad acting. Robert Vaughn deliberately affects some kind of bizarre weakling voice quality.

The whole premise of the movie was that the villagers were wothless cowards but Bronson goes off his head proclaiming how brave they are because they're dirt scratching farmers. The 40 banditos ride into the village and the hired guns(the seven) expose ... Read More:
