| This movie was SO awful, dreary and depressing that my friend and I stopped watching it about 1 hour into it - we couldn't take it anymore!! And we are both HUGE Tudor history fans. But this film was just awful in every way; it was a total waste of money and I wish I could return it!!!
If you want to see REAL Tudors drama with fabulous acting, great scenery and extraordinary costumes, check out The Tudors on Showtime - do yourself a favor and don't bother with "Lady Jane"! |

| This movie is poor in every dimension. The most egregious of its inadequacies is the director's inability to tell such a simple story. Any scene of impending interest is killed; leaving the feeling that the director is trying to create a movie out of loosely related short vignettes, thus deliberately downplaying anything that could be mistaken for a plot. | Saw this movie (more then once!) in the theater when first released and thought it was great. Ordered one for my family and one for my brother's family when I realized it was on DVD. It is still a pleasure to watch, and a good one for the family! |

| "Second Best" is not even on DVD. Few have heard of it. Its fans, judging from Amazon.com, are boy-lovers (in the erotic sense), though the film has virtually no sexual content. It's about a middle-aged postmaster (Graham) from Wales who feels the impulse to adopt a son (Jamie) and acts on it.

| this movie goes down in history for many reasons, but mainly because Lee Van Cleef totally stole the show from Clint Eastwood. The way Van cleef played the character was so cool, with untouchable confidence. You never knew what to expect from him.
