VHS : Don King - Only In America
I can watch (and I try) this movie everyday. If you are in the game of promotions its a must have especially if you are a minority or Jewish. It shows what real hustle is all about. Sure many people have a lot of negative opinions of the King but check most people don't really know his story. At the end of the day what i came away with this movie is that you have to fight for what you want it will not be handed out freely. When you have to compete with people with more money and education amongst ... Read More:

VHS : Looking for Langston
In mainstream gay cinema, the images of the black gay man is somewhat controversial and contrived. Often, he is portrayed as the overly effete stereotype. For the sake of the dollar and to appeal to cross-cultural fetishistic interest to reach a wider audience, he is often shown preferring and seeking out the attentions of white gay men. Writer-director Isaac Julien's LOOKING FOR LANGSTON represents a departure from the status quo of the image of black gay men while also attempting to reclaim the black gay ... Read More:

"What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?" So begins what is perhaps Langston Hughes' most famous poem "A Dream Deferred" and ends with the line, "Or does it explode?" The writer Lorraine Hansberry lifted the quotation from Hughes' powerful poem for her equally powerful award-winning play that ultimately became the 1961 film starring Sidney Poitier, Claudia McNeil, Ruby Dee and Diana Sands, directed by Daniel Petrie for which Ms. Hansberry wrote the screenplay.

It is safe to say ... Read More:

VHS : Biography - Martin Luther King, Jr.
Sure, as the other viewers pointed out, this movie does indeed provide some insight into the personal life of King and it shows a side of him that we aren't really familiar with. The problem is that this is the only material shown about King. It's always a sad story or a pathetic reality about him. Rarely do these people emphasize what actually made the man decent, instead they focus exclusively on what his personal problems were. To me this movie honestly seemed more like an E! Hollywood Story rather than a balanced biography. ... Read More:

This movie is my favorite blaxploitation flick of all time...the big problem is that the xenon versions of the movie are cut. There's some sleazy video store in the neighborhood that has the un-cut vhs version. I have no idea why xenon buys the rights then cuts up the film.

Instead of giving props to the movie, which was marginal at best. I'll speak on the costume designer. Bravo for the clothes...they were "Out Of Sight!" Also, Priest's car was the sickest car I've ever seen in my life...I want one.

I first watched this on video when I was 8, 10 or some years old which I checked out @ the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library in Roswell. I think it once changed me how the way I feel about life and in the future. MLK has always been an inspiration to me how the way I'm livin' and how I'm playin the horn which is the trumpet. I praised God that he would've been 2day to see what it is. May God bless his soul.

And check out the movie "King" from the late Paul Winfield (1941-2004) R.I.P.

This tape is an edited version of the episode.
It does not contain the weekend update with Jessie
Jackson reciting "Green Eggs and Ham".
The tape is app. 25 minutes in length.
Othe than that typical SNL.
