VHS : Harry Potter & Sorcerer's Stone
This Harry Potter movie is excellent. Actually, it was better than I expected.

Yes, the movie has cut many, many, small things from the book. But, this is inevitable. If everything from the book went into the movie, you would have a five or six hour movie.

I recommend this movie.

VHS : A Cry In The Wild
While the movie wasn't nearly as good as the book, it was an excellent teaching tool for my fifth graders. Many are reluctant readers. After reading the book and viewing the movie, the book won hands down. Mission accomplished. Although the movie was somewhat of a disappointment, the service I received was excellent. If I need to purchase movies or materials for my classroom in the future, amazon.com will be one of my first stops.

Sometimes, Hollywood tells the truth--and this is one of those times!!! This is part of your United States Air Force history! Many of you might even remember some of these things, and you will understand a whole lot more than you do now! Real people, real events, and a real story! There is a real Air Force Base in Kansas named after this guy. An American Hero of the modern age that you may not have heard of, and a forefather of the USAF. Some people have an abiding fear of truth, though, so those people should ... Read More:

VHS : Across the Wide Missouri
It is impossible to watch this at time breathtakingly beautiful movie without sadness not least because what survives is a mere fraction of the movie made by the great William Wellman -the studio interfered in the picture excising great swathes of the footage Wellman shot and adding a ponderous voice over narration declaimed in sonourous mannner by Howard Keel which adds nothing to the picture whatsoever .
It is a movie about the destruction of a way of life -that of the mountain men .The source material is a novel by Bernard ... Read More:

VHS : Bonnie & Clyde
As our nation teeters on the brink of what may be another Great Depression, it's poignant to look back on the last one. This movie was visually beautiful and artistically ground breaking, but the real story was much richer and darker.

They did not meet when Clyde was trying to steal Emma Parker's car; they met at a gathering of mutual friends and relatives when Bonnie was out of work.

Clyde was not gay or impotent, but an accomplished Cassanova who had serveral girlfriends, some serious, before he ever met Bonnie. ... Read More:

VHS : Plymouth Adventure (1952)
I enjoyed "Plymouth Adventure" very much although it is a flawed film. Something is missing. We learn very little about the persecution of the Pilgrims and their beliefs except that they pray "standing upwards" and are very clean. They even wash with the ship's limited drinking water which causes consternation among crew members. It was especially difficult for me to believe that the wife (Gene Tierney) of Pilgrim leader, William Bradford (Leo Genn) would prefer the ship's bloated, craggy, bitter, and alcoholic captain (Spencer Tracy) over her good ... VHS : Ride With the Devil (1999)
Released in 1999 "Ride with the Devil" is a Civil War tale focusing on Southern guerrilla fighters known as Bushwhackers, mostly young men who stage daring raids on Union forces and communities along the Missouri/Kansas border. The story includes Quantrill's infamous 1963 raid on Lawrence, Kansas, which he burned & pillaged and murdered over 150 unarmed men, women and children.

The story shines the spotlight on the son of a German immigrant (Tobey Maguire aka Spider-man), a beautiful woman (Jewel) and an ex-slave (Jeffrey Wright), all ... Read More:
