I love this movie!Since I was around 5 or 6 years old, this film has been one of my favorites. The original book is a timeless classic for all ages.Out of all the film adaptations, this one is tied with the Hallmark one as my favorite. It perfectly recreates the eerie feel of the manor and the moors it is built upon. The black and white appearance of the film are made for this type of piece. Also, when the film switches to technicolor for the garden scenes, the effect is stunning. It makes for a seamless transition ... The story by Sid Fleischman is, in my opinion, not treated fairly in the video adaption, as is often the case when movies are made from books, the book is much better. I don't know why the people behind the movie felt the need to add extra characters or stray from the story line. Still, the movie is entertaining. Children who have devoured the book can enjoy the movie, noting differences, and deciding for themselves which has more appeal. For me, as it almost always the case, I prefer the book.

I remember watching an interview like this is your life years ago with Michael Crawford, and they went through his career of TV, movies and plays etc.. and I kept waiting for them to mention condorman and they never did, and they should, as it's a very underrated movie.

When I was a kid, this was one of my favorite movies. About Woody (Crawford) who is a comic book writer who's best friend Harry (Michael J Fox's father in Teen Wolf/Longest Yard (original) guy who dies) is a file clerk for a spy company, who when ... Read More:

I had to write this only because at least two reviews here comment that this is "early Travolta."
Saturday Night Fever (1977) / Staying Alive (1983) (Double Feature), Grease (Rockin' Rydell Edition), and Welcome Back, Kotter - The Complete First Season, are early Travolta. He has been famous since the mid 70's and I'd hardly call this movie -- when John Travolta was almost 40 years old -- representative of his "early" work. But, hey, I guess that says something for his continued appeal.
Regarding the movie itself, it ... Read More:
