VHS : Last of the Dogmen
Last Of The Dog Men ranks right up there with Dreamkeeper for me. This is a beautiful film to look at.With a great story and musical score. Like a great book,it grabs you from the beginning and carries you through till the end. The acting by all,is superb,as well.

How it treats the issue of this last surviving tribe is especially respectful and satisfying.

Once viewed, the scenery will never be forgotten. I don't believe anyone could be disappointed in this film.

Relentlessly sad and painful but also sweet and funny and somehow hopeful. It's universal theme of change and ability to adapt to change can be applied to the stages of life in individual lives, in industry, in cultures and in countries. The theme song "The Good Times Are Coming," sung by Mama Cass is the greatest example I've ever seen of how music can elevate and accentuate the theme and tone of a movie. Thank goodness for the TCM channel, which makes movies like this available to those who would otherwise never ... Read More:

I've seen this movie at least a half dozen times and love it every time. I never read the book, so I can't make a comparison but in the movie, I love the evolvution of the character of Willie throughout the story.

Besides being a heartwarming animal flick, it is a wonderful story about community.

VHS : Lonely Are the Brave
'Lonely are the Brave' was the film that Kirk Douglas, himself, regards as his favorite. No, it's not a big Hollywood flash like 'Spartacus' but it is the subtle and tragic rendention of a time and life style already gone. It's a tale of the passing of the old West and the disappearance of men--independent men--who couldn't or wouldn't change.

Douglas--Jack Burns--in the film is a man intolerant of rules, fences and civilization. He's a cowboy with an ideology. His sense of honor is antequated, perhaps, but all ... Read More:

I really enjoyed this movie cause it did show the Indian grayeagle a kind person. I loved it when each day she beth learned about who she is and not what she was lead to believe. I loved it cause it was a clean movie withno language what so ever. I wish they had more scences for each time they moved from one place and at the end a little longer with chief running wolf her father that she found out about. I hope for more movies like this one especially about the Indians
