| Hello again from this particular aisle of the abstract retail market.
Along with the Jiri Barta collection, the recommendation of Jan Svankmajer's Faust comes as no surprise because, well, I own and review a lot of animation and happen to already have Lunacy, Alice, and the Ossuary and Other Tales disc of Svankmajer's own oeuvre. | The unique style... Creepy Animation... It all just goes together! One of my fav alice in wonderland videos... If you looking for a creepy alice... This is it!!! Its worth a good look... I have watched it may times... reminds me of the quay brothers... stop motion... very unique the only part i didnt like was the dubbed words in it... the movie would be so much better if the whole close up of the mouth was taken out... The story is about a woman longing to have a child. When she can't, she mothers a tree root/stump as a child. The child (Otik) becomes real and has a voracious appetite for raw meat, and he grows and grows. When the mother can't provide enough food, the child begins to bloodily devour human beings. | I loved this movie, it would always play on the Disney channel when I was younger in the early 1990's. It's a story about Mr. Rossi and his dog who go on vacation and all the adventures they have, from being on a tyrannical farmers farm and leading an animal revolt, to climbing the andes, to heading to the beach and being serenaded by strange fish. The artwork is delightful and very exotic, and it is a riot to watch.
