VHS : Dracula: Prince of Darkness (Ws)
Vampires & More! 20 Movie Pack
Dracula, prince of darkness was directed by Terence Fisher, who had guided Christopher Lee through his first performance as the blood-thirsty count. Yhis film was the first NOT to feature Dracula's nemesis Van Helsing(played by Peter Cushing). Instead vamoire-fighting expertise was supplied by Andrew Kier in the role of Father Shandor. Like Van Helsing, Shandor despises blind superstition, but recognizes the forces of evil and respects their power. Dracula, ... Read More:

Awesome thriller.
Will remind Hitchcock.
Losely based on some true facts.
Has some intense scenes mid-way when it its all clear to the viewers.
Terrific start. End may not be the best.
A Must watch, buy if you can view thriller again and again.

In the end, a quality work. The way the story unfolds itself is one of the best I have ever seen.

VHS : Guardian (1990) (Ws Clam)
The Guardian is based on a novel called The Nanny ,written by the unwarrantedly neglected Dan Greenbeurg .
It is set in L.A and the movie opens on scenes of domestic contentment in the home of Phil and Kate ;played respectively by Dwier Brown and Carey Lowell. They are a prosperous couple and the pace of their work life compels them to employ a nanny -an Englishwoman named Camilla (Jenny Seagrove). This is not the most judicious piece of hiring they have ever done for it turns out she is a devotee of a Druidical ... VHS : I Spit on Your Grave (Coll Clam)
I can see why this film was scorned back in the 70's. It is hard to sit down and watch this film without wondering if there is something wrong with you. The rape scenes are long, brutal, and unrelenting. What makes this film so tough to watch is the fact that the actress is raped not once, twice, three, or four, but five times! Worse, the rape scenes make up the bulk of the movie, so basically you're watching a woman being raped at length for most of the film's running time. No wonder Roger Ebert was moved to call this ... VHS : Rasputin: Mad Monk (Ws)
Whilst this isn't a classic a Hammer film by any means, it does make for strangely compelling viewing. The film was obviously made on a very small budget, and I suspect it was filmed soon after Dracula: Prince of Darkness as the cast is very similiar and some of the same sets look the same.

Rasputin is a drinker and womaniser who has healing powers. Using these he becomes the trusted Doctor to the Zsars wife. However his motives are suspect.. Christopher Lee plays the title role (based on a real historical person ... Read More:

OK, you've all seen this classic unless you've been living on Mars since 1973. And don't bother even watching, much less purchasing any of the sequels. But this slightly extended version attempts to add a few more minutes to elaborate on Linda Blair's central Regan teenage character before she "involuntarily spirals down" into complete possession. After all, the primary viewer empathy should have always been on Regan and viewer association with the Chris MacNeil character. But instead, the director spent too much footage on incidentals, ... The image is good, but not fantastic, probably taken from a master video tape, but without restoration. The black is sometimes too grey without enought contrast, the colors are granular and twinkles a bite the way video (tapes) images use to.
The movie is absolutly great, probably the second-best "Dracula" ever made after the 1958 Hammer film.

8.The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires starring: Peter Cushing, David Chiang, Julie Ege, Robin Stewart, Szu Shih

VHS : The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires
An extravagant claim but one I'm gonna endeavor to back up.
'Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires' is the last horror picture Peter Cushing made for Hammer, and is magnificent. He plays Van Helsing, (yes.. honest!)and to his eternal credit he looks believably close to tears every time he utters an emotionally-charged line like "In Europe it is the crucifix, in Asia; the image of the Lord Buddha".
I adore Peter Cushing anyway, and to see him in any film is good for me, but to see him in a work of this magnitude and gravitas is a real treat. He ... Read More:

I do not own the movie and will not own it. I saw the movie in the theater. Even though it is based on a true ritual it was still a very bizzare movie. If the reviews could give minus stars then I would give it a negative 1. I just don't think it is worth buying and definately was not worth seeing to begin with. I think Nicholas Cage could have made better time of doing another movie and not wasting his acting experience.

VHS : Possession (Ws Clam)
If a culmination of a movie had been a scene of a wife rooting some out-of-this-world half-male half-insect (from Naked Lunch - Criterion Collection, or?), the rest depicted is a complete nonsense fed with ill imagination of money-hungry producers and natural attractiveness of actors.
