VHS : Futureworld
Films buffs will want to know that the Spanish R2 'Mundo Futuro' DVD is missing footage. There are four cuts totaling 2.5 minutes of missing footage:

1. The pre-credit sequence is missing.
2. Some dialoge during the press invite, round table scene.
3. When Peter Fonda explores the remains of Westworld.
4. Dialogue at the very end.

Until a better version is released, your best bet is to pick up the R2 UK full frame edition which includes all of the ... Read More:

VHS : Robocop 2
Set one year after the first film, another crime-wave has hit Detroit, this time fuelled by the availability of the new designer drug, Nuke. Robocop (Peter Weller) is still on the job, but the rest of the police department is on strike because mega-corporation, OCP, who owns the Detroit police department, has dramatically cut their pay. Meanwhile, OCP is in the process of developing another robot-cop, Robocop 2, to replace Robocop.

Considered on its own, "Robocop 2" isn't too bad a movie. Its main problem lies in the fact ... Read More:

VHS : Soldier (1998)
On second thought, my title to this review should be "Missing THE Action", which is the film's dominating and damning problem: starring action hero Kurt Russell ("Escape from New York") and directed by genre resident Paul Anderson ("Mortal Kombat"), I expected "Soldier" to be a veritable action-powerhouse...yet the film goes beyond missing its mark and lacks any definitive direction - unsure if it wants to be a an action flick, a survival story, or a social critique.

"Todd" (Russell) is a soldier born into and raised in your typical ... Read More:

VHS : Fist of the North Star
In a post-nuclear future world where water and food are scarce and nothing seems to grow from the earth, those who are strongest rule. One such man is called Kenshiro, and he is the successor of the Hokuto Shinken fighting style which uses pressure points to destroy the opponent's body from within. When Ken's woman is stolen from him by his former friend, he is left for dead and his older brothers each attempt to replace him as the new Fist of the North Star. Ken is not dead, however, and returns stronger than ever. He journeys to reclaim his lost ... Read More:

VHS : Robocop
Some extra features on the making of the film with Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, etc. Still a wild ride of a film all these years later. Alot of Phil Tippets stop-motion effects would be CGI today. This edition contains both the original theatrical edition and the extended unrated version. The later is considerably more violent -- particularly in the scene where Boddicker's men shoot up Murphy. Nice performances by Weller (who is now a professor of Roman history at the University of Syracuse, NY), Nancy Allen, Kurtwood Smith (Red on THAT 70'S SHOW) as the utterly ... Read More:

7.Battle for the Planet of the Apes starring: Roddy McDowall, Claude Akins, Natalie Trundy, Severn Darden, Lew Ayres
directed by: J. Lee Thompson

VHS : Battle for the Planet of the Apes
Following the rise of the apes and some sort of man-made catastrophe (probably nuclear war) a community of apes and humans live together in peace. It's the evil human survivors of the nuclear war who still live in New York City who have an issue with the situation and all sorts of hijinks ensue.

Probably the weakest film in the series it is also the one that really requires the viewer to have a strong grasp of what went on in the other movies, especially Battle for the Planet of the Apes. Still, it IS good sci-fi!

VHS : The Road Warrior - Special Edition
The title says it all here folks. I've been a long time fan of this series (and by series, I mean 'Mad Max' and 'The Road Warrior', not that abortion of a movie 'Max Max beyond Thunderdome'). Anyway, this is the Australian release titled 'Mad Max 2', not 'The Road Warrior', so it has a slightly different intro, and they do refer to Mel's character as Max, not as the 'man with no name' like they did in the U.S. version.

Not a lot in the way of extras here. The picture is very grainy when viewed in hi-def. Not anything you can do about it; it was a limitation of ... Read More:

VHS : Bridge of Dragons
Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa is a well known martial artist who plays bad guy Warlord Ruechang. Dolph Lungren is one of Ruechang's loyal soldiers who is trained to never question orders. However, Reuchang continues to abuse the princess, played by Rachel Shane, whose father he killed. Lungren finally challenges Ruechang to a final scene that is very 'extreme' with broken bones and even sword action!
This movie is a fantasy action film that has a fictional military that is governed by warlord Ruechang. Good martial arts action. I rate this movie with 5 stars. This movie gets one entire star ... Read More:

VHS : Waterworld
The product description for this dvd is hugely misleading. Not only is the running time just the extended cut and theatrical cut combined, but the extended cut is the TV version broadcast on ABC without the nudity, excessive violence and profanity. So unless you want the real director's cut which doesn't exist, this is definitely NOT it.
