VHS : S-Club-7 in Miami 1
If you are reading this and wondering what the heck a "S Club 7" actually is, then you are probably a fan of either Rachel Stevens or Hannah Spearritt looking for things they did early in their careers. Rachel and Hannah appear to be the only members of the cast who have been visible in the industry since the BBC show ended and the group broke up.

I say "group" because the premise of the thing is that they are a seven member musical group-imagine "The A-Teens" playing the main characters on ... Read More:

VHS : Fawlty Towers - The Complete Collection
Like all the Monty Python alumni, John Cleese is talented and funny. From Monty Python (of course) to A Fish Called Wanda, Cleese always just makes me laugh.

And it is not different in Fawlty Towers, where he is at his acerbic and crazy best as the owner of a hotel where circumstances always leads to laughs, and Cleese is surrounded with other actos who do a great job.

Echos of Monty Pythin are here, plus other elements thrown in, so if you are a Python or Cleese Fan you will find ... Read More:

VHS : Are You Being Served? Giftset (Volumes 1-7 plus Best of)

This series ran and re-ran on public television interminably, and I always loved it. There must have been hundreds of episodes, and I think I saw each a couple of dozen times. I never tired of them. This set includes some of the best of them, and I guarantee that they will give great pleasure and endless laughs.

Anyone who loves British humor will love this series. If you have not seen them, I envy you because it is still in front of you.

VHS : Father Ted - A Christmassy Ted
I love Father Ted and have the complete DVD set. However...this particular episode has a split personality... The first half of the show makes you believe that this is the best Father Ted ever... It is brilliant and just the first half alone is probably worth watching.... but the last half was incredibly poor. It just becomes dull... which I have never seen any other Father Ted episode do.

VHS : As Time Goes By 7
Volume 7 of "As Time Goes By," the BBC Comedy starring Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer, finds Jean and Lionel more caught up in the story of their love rather than actually getting on with their happy ending. Apparently this is the second half of Series 3, not that I am really sure what that means (I assume a series is something like our season), so I will continue to number the episodes consecutively starting from the first one:

Episode 20 finds Alistair (Philip Bretherton) back from the United States to tell Lionel ... Read More:

"Where the winds of restlessness blow, where the fires of greed burn, where hatred chills the blood, here in the Great Mind's Eye, here in the depths of the human heart, here is the Mara." --from the diary of Dojjen.

Much like the later Season 25, Season 20 of Doctor Who had the Doctor confronting villains from his past. This time, it's a creature that only appeared in the previous season.

Tegan has given the Doctor the coordinates to Manussa, a planet of the Earth Federation that used to be part of the Manussan ... Read More:

Okay, I am waiting for this on DVD technically, but this episode is great. I really enjoyed mystery solving element of this story. That makes this one of the most engaging episodes of Doctor Who I have ever viewed.

VHS : Doctor Who - Planet of the Daleks
This story does an astonishing job of making a small studio set for a jungle planet (which has a studio sky and the plants are in visible pots!!) seem like it is enormous enough to run around in while Daleks chase after you. The whole production looks second rate by even the cheap standards of 70s Dr.Who and the script is just another Terry Nation recycling of his earlier stories. But it still manages to be a lot of fun and adventure, especially if watched as the second half of the epic which began with the Frontier in Space.
One thing Nation writes ... Read More:
