| this movie is a comedy masterpiece it is complex with hilarious moments Roberto Benigni is a brilliant comedian one of the best in the business i will buy anything he's a part of. my movie collection cannot be complete without this film hopefully they will release it on DVD soon. there arent many comedies that would have me cackling like a fat lady in a fun house but this is definately a must see i would give it 10 stars. |

| I've watched my video copy of this movie twice. Enjoyed it both times. Plot may be kind of crazy, but so what? It's still a fun movie. The plot has been described successfully by another reviewer, so I'll not waste time describing it again.

| Someone should have informed the makers of this movie that women do NOT enjoy being beaten unconscious, held prisoner, victimized. The ridiculous plot glorifies this disgusting behavior and it is sickening. Lame attempts at humor fail, rampant drug use is also portrayed and glorified. Is the audience actually to believe the woman would fall in love with her attacker and live happily ever after? The only thing they got right was rating it NC-17. NO minor should see this movie. | I was charged a month later for "Amazon Prime" which I did not sign up for, nor did I authorize the charge, which will cause overdrafts in my bank account. I am very displeased that Amazon would not ask me to authorize this charge or even send me an e-mail informing me of it. I have cancelled this "membership" as soon as I discovered the charge, but as it will not process for 1-2 business days, my bank account will still be overdrawn, leaving me with over $100 in NSF fees. | This is one of my favorite movies ever. Every character is deliciously crafted which adds to such a great mix of enjoyable interactions and fun. Satire, warmth and folly are all blended nicely. Everyone in the film, Tatie, the nephew, the wife, the sister-in-law, the kids, the care-giver, beauty-salon co-worker and nursing home staff are all favorites. Quite a gem indeed. BRAVO! |
