I have never seen the movie before so can't judge what it was like in other releases. In the DVD I bought, I had widescreen, dialog in English and Japanese and two disks. One for the regular film and the other was the entire soundtrack with story boarded pictures. I found the dialog in English beautiful and well done. The picture and the care the film had in transferring it over into DVD was marvelous. A man and his two daughters move to the country in a new house while the mother is hospitalized. ... Read More:

Honestly, what the H*** is taking so long?! This thing shipped on the 8th of Feb, its now the 29th and I still haven't got it. It was shipped via domestic standard shipping. The email I got said 4-21 business days shipping?! What are you shipping it via camel? Ridiculous! Still haven't gotten the d*** thing. Never buy from 'Got Books Inc'. Really lousy. I can't even track my shipments. THIS REVIEW DOES NOT MEAN THE PRODUCT IS BAD, ONLY THE SHIPPING WAS A NIGHTMARE! Sorry to lower the rating on this product people, but if this ... Read More:

Everyone should be able to view Hayao Miyazaki animation. This film is no exception. You must see these films more than once. Put the setup in Japanese and English subtitles to get a better effect. Watch the films once for the story and then for the background animation. Superb!!!!

I can't wait for Studio Ghibli's next film to come to the U.S.. It is currently showing in Japan.

VHS : Hello Kitty: Santa's Missing Hat
My daughter and I loved this video. I am always baffled when parents get upset that this video "suggests" to their innocent children that Santa Claus might not be real. This concept is ubiquitous - havn't your kids ever seen a version of "A Christmas Story"? Santa Claus is not real, and why is it so important to you to perpetuate a falsehood as long as possible? Also, why would one reader immediately blame the country of Japan. This demonstrates extreme ethnocentricity, provinciality and ignorance. This DVD could have been made anywhere. One ... Read More:

VHS : Pokemon - Round One (Vol. 25)
After a decent wait, we finally get to see what die-hard Pokemon fans have been waiting to see for quite some time: the actual Pokemon League competition. These episodes vastly outshine the rather mediocre mid-series episodes from the period between the Saffron and Cinnabar gyms, but are also pretty good in their own right--lots of decent Pokemon battling, believable plot (for a change) with a good human story, and several at-least-somewhat-memorable new characters.

I also have a few bones to pick with the Editorial Review above. He really is not qualified ... Read More:
