VHS : The Blood Spattered Bride
This has to be the most idiotic, boring piece of trashy horror I have ever seen.

VHS : Hunger
THE HUNGER is one of the best vampire movies around. The mysterious, bloodsucking Blaylocks (Catherine Deneuve as Miriam and David Bowie as John) live a non-life of luxury and debauched serial-murder / feeding. Doctor Sarah Roberts (Susan Sarandon) gets mixed up w/ the deadly duo when John begins aging at an incredibly accelerated rate. Dr. Roberts might be able to help him since she happens to be doing research into slowing the aging process. Miriam falls for Sarah and makes plans to replace the ... Read More:

VHS : Daughters of Darkness
I struggled a bit with how many stars to give this. The quality, both technical and plot, were surprisingly good. The sound and music were super.

That said, and this will seem a bit coarse, I like my trash to be trashier than this. When I think "lesbian vampire," I don't think about it being implied. I think about it being a bit more in my face than in my head.

I did like that a bit of the dialogue is in a Rob Zombie song. I had wondered where that sound byte came from. ... Read More:

VHS : Caress of the Vampire 2
I've seen bad movies before, or at least I thought I had. I've even referred to a couple of movies as the worst ever made. Then I watched Caress of the Vampire 2, and it has changed me forever; whatever innocence was left in my blackened soul is now gone. There aren't enough adjectives to describe just how horrible this movie is. I am literally in shock, having suffered a fate I would not wish on my worst enemy. I may never be able to laugh or smile again.

Don't worry if you haven't seen the first ... Read More:

VHS : Vampyres (Ws Clam)
A very entertaining film nicely remastered and uncut. An enjoyable commentary by the director and a very nice interview with the two leads.

Not only is this movie amateurishly horrible, it's not even a movie in my book. Actual movies have plots and last longer than 46 minutes. Perhaps this is some type of deconstructionist film, rebelling against the idea of having an actual plot or hiring actors who actually know how to act. As the movie opens, we learn that a dangerous female vampire has come to earth in her spaceship. Two would-be "admirers" in a back alley soon wind up dead and drained of blood (although we don't get to see any of the actual bloodletting). Next ... Read More:
