| I found this to be a well-done and informative documentary which focused on the impact of Nazism upon the local population as well as Europe. This film is long (five vhs videos) but well worth watching. I was particularly impressed with the interviews that they attained; former Nazis as well as victims of the regime. They also interviewed Germans who witnessed these times and events and asked them the hard questions such as "why didn't you do anything?" and "why did you participate in persecuting the Jews?"

| I lived in the 1950s and it was just great. This show presented too many stuff from a 90s leftist perspective. At the outset, however, there is SOME good to be found in this miniseries: the descriptions of the civil rights movement, suburbanization, the beatniks, television, the fall of Cuba to Castro and the rise of rock and roll are quite accurate, even if you can get by the "teens are rebels" slant. | I frequently show this video to my art survey class because it does a brilliant job of explaining the origins of the christian catacombs in Rome. It also takes a look at the Jewish burial sites and then takes a short trip to the catacombs located in Alexandria. Email me for a transcript that I made of this wonderful video.

| This series has great content covering a wide range of different subjects, battles and individuals not always included in CW documentaries. I recommend it for the video library of all Civil War buffs. Even though I have watched all the shows I pull these off the shelf and watch them when I can't find anything else on TV. At 45 minutes or so each show, you get a very detailed exploration into the episode's subject matter instead of the general overview you might find in other documentaries. My ... Read More: |

| We owned movie houses in the Philippines. I first saw this movie showned in our theatre, the title was Screaming Eagles with Tom Tryon, as the star. I was thrilled and proud of the 101 Airborne Division landing at Saint Meri-English, in France during the invasion of Normandy, during world war 11, because,I know that the Americans are coming back and it is not long enough that the Philippines will also be liberated from the Japanese Imperial Army,sure enough in 1945 was the landing at Leyte Gulf, Philippines.The Philippines was liberated. |
