They have integrity and even throw in some humor to lighten the subjects up. People who call the humor cheesy need to lighten up and broaden their sense of humor. | I agree with both of the earlier reviews...the videos ARE bad quality! They are corny and silly. However, my eleven year old daughter LOVES them! She has Down Syndrome, and so these are perfect for her educational level. I often hear her laughing so hard in the other room because of the puppets. She watched the tapes so much I had to buy her a second set because she wore them out! She has learned so much from them. | My family loves this video. It belongs to my 7-year-old who is very language delayed (he has Down syndrome, apraxia, and other issues). He memorizes physical movements like dances and signs easily (but in his own style). He doesn't learn spoken language at all easily and almost no one can understand him when he says the words that he does know--unless he signs them while speaking. | Jackie is a legend and she had the hair and eye makeup to prove it. This video was fun. I only wish that the segments where Jackie appeared on talk shows (Merv, Mike, David) were longer. The attack by John Simon (?) on a David Frost interview was particularly fun. The video dodged her bisexuality, but did note that, even at her death, her devoted husband Irving shaved 3 years off her age to the press. Worth a look-see. |
