| I remember watching and loving this opera every year when I was a child. I was disappointed when the network stopped airing it. Now that Mr. Menotti has passed away, perhaps the news coverage will encourage the production of a good DVD version of this classic. Hope someone's listening! |

| Excellent performance by all the actors and opera singers. It was a very good idea to transport the classic opera into a movies version. This adaptation is not new, nevertheless, is a masterpiece for all times. Congratulations ! |

| Domingo sings beautifully, Stratas less so but looks and acts the part. The biggest problem is there are so many cuts and shortened arias that you could almost call this "extended highlights". And Zeferelli over-produces, particularly with camera work. If you want a movie version get Anna Moffo's of over 30 years ago. Now there was a Violetta! |

| The Original Three Tenors Concert was held during a very warm month: July. The actual date was July 7, 1990 at Terme di Caracalla in Rome, Italy, to commemorate the World Cup Football finals. The location was spectacular: the fabled Roman ruins of the Baths of Caracalla. The idea for this concert was for colleagues Domingo and Pavarotti to welcome back Carreras after his successful battle with leukemia and to assist his foundation.

| I have both of the Metropolitan Opera DVDs of la Boheme and consider this the finer production, Carreras and Stratas are not only vocally excellent they look the part. Renata Scotto is perfect as Musetta. In the other copy she plays Mimi and Pavarotti is Rodolfo. They are just too healthy to be dying of TB or look like a starving playwright. That copy I would rate as 4 stars. |

| This is not exactly a movie and not exactly a documentary, but a bit of each blended to create a unique film. You will see and hear a wonderful rendition of Mozart's The Magic Flute, sung in Swedish, as presented at the Royal Dramatic Theater in Stockholm, and you also get a glimpse of the audience and the backstage, and this contributes to the awe and delight. It is a Bergman masterpiece and so un-Bergman....no dark mood, except that which Mozart chose to include. If you like The Magic Flute and the movies, this is THE video you want to keep and watch over and over. |

| Where's Cecil Beaton when you need him. When you have the greatest singers of the last half of the 20th century, Nilsson and Corelli, you don't need all this excess! The Met has toned this production down shortly after this broadcast. This production is so busy I hardly even noticed the singing. You'll find every thing you need on the stage but a basket ball court. |
