| Emo Philips is definitely not your typical guy. He wears off-beat clothes. His speech is slow. The only thing stranger than his haircut is the way his body moves. He's NOT the normal mainstream comic. However, for people willing to spend a little time watching him, his "weirdness" will grow on you and you'll realize that's what makes him a comic genius.

| this is a very good orig. show of his shows. its entertaining to the end with plenty of good topics/parts in it but the usual 3 ltr word subjects & 4 ltr words kinda take the funny away a lil and wear u out. I wish he could have made 1 subject,the cross, a lil longer on ad lib. Of his shows in general, i feel if sam got even more topics,which is a chore, then being more silly and oh,ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh'd more, he'd make me laugh at most but that may have been his next plan more n more of course, while ... | As another reviewer so correctly pointed out, this is adult humor. Pee Wee should never have gone into children's television. He's much better when he's satirizing it. I wish this were available on DVD. I got this video largely for reasons of nostalgia, but it still holds up. |

| This appears to be exactly the same program as the other "Best of Musikladen" dvd: a seamlessly edited compilation of two live performances from German television. The runtime listed here is not accurate - it's more like 48 minutes, not 105 (which would have been great!). Also, it does not contain "Back Together Again" as indicated. | I loved this piece despite the fact that I don't own, but have, in my rentals, encountered plenty of broken down structures. I suppose I didn't come into watching this expecting it to be of the same calibre as 'Monster' or "Swimming to Cambodia", (this being a mere HBO production), so a comparison to those didn't even occur to me. | I could dissect this DVD, but am going to resist the temptation and cite only the drummers who I admire the most and who held my attention.
My idol is Louie Belson, and the clip showing his does not disappoint. I loved the clip with Cozy Cole and Gene Krupa. I think Krupa was a great drummer and superb showman, but Cozy Cole blew him away in the short clip with the two of them. Joe Morello is another favorite who works wonders with odd time signatures.
