| I just watched this movie again for the 100th time and continue to think its one of the best movies of the 80's. It really captures the feeling of life in the 80's and what it feels like to be a smart teenager who gets treated unfairly. The soundtrack is also awesome- Billy Idol, Wendy O. Williams and Pat Benetar. I read that Benetar loves to rip this movie up in concert before singing the theme. Too bad she is such a idiot not even knowing the coolness that is this movie. | I first saw this movie on the Lifetime for Women network channel. I thought it was a touching and heartwarming story of a family trying to stay connected despite tragedy and obstacles. It is so refreshing to see African-Americans depicted as what they are: flesh and blood human beings. I rarely see this movie run during the holiday season. | As a retired school teacher, I have seen this video once a year for 25 years 5-7 times a day. I would cry every time, every class, every period. My kids thought I was crazy. I think that it is more truly appreciated as we get older, watch our parents and grandparents become older, that the child becomes the parent and vice versa. | I guess I didn't miss much by not reading this book as a child. I don't really understand why it became a classic. It starts out interestingly enough with a very gothic setting. A little British girl named Mary survives a cholera epidemic in India and is sent to Yorkshire to live with her distant relatives. The author gives a vivid description of the beauty of the moors and the mysterious mansion that the girl goes to live in. | This movie is a must-see because of the lessons it imparts with such emotional intensity & love...one of the greatest movies I've ever seen & the scenery is spectacular. The cast is exceptional & I wish we had more movies like this one...it should be required viewing for all families.. |

| I have loved this movie since I was a little girl and bought it simply to remind me of childhood. Watching it as an adult has still been a great experience, I think it's a wonderful movie. |

| Johnny Tremain was a tiny Disney movie on early American History (or was it myth?). Yet it captured the minds and hearts of kids and adults of the time and helped spread some historic culture throughout the land.
Having said that, the modern perspective of things has changed all this and by today's standards it is at best a nice little adventure movie, but nothing more.
