What a shame,it seems that movie companies only release Beatle classics on a limited term!!! I'm sure that a 40th Anniversary Edition might easily be on the way but I don't know!!! I'm glad I bought a copy of it when it was in print, because it is no out of print and fetching high dollars on auction sites such as Ebay!!! This WAS a great release from MGM,nice vibrant Widescreen(although it was non-anamorpic,it was'nt to bad sice it was 1.66!)transfer,the soundtrack was awesome too!!! And this disc ... Read More:

Set in contemporary suburbia, young Victor Frankenstein happily plays with his aptly named bull terrier "Sparky", when the tragic happens... the spunky pooch is hit and killed by a car. Crushed, Victor struggles to acclimate to life without him, when he receives the bright Promethian idea to re-animate Sparky after watching the science teacher demonstrate electrical muscle spasms with an "ex-frog".

He rushes home to bring his beloved canine partner back to life. Under the suspicious gaze ... Read More:

I remember seeing this movie when I was 14 yrs old. It had a great impact on me(of coures at 14, in the 1960s you'd have to be practically dead, not to be influenced by what was going on in San Fransico). I still think about it from time to time and happened to catch it on tv the other night. The only thing that no one seems to mention, is that John Randolph didn't have much of a choice to stay the way he was. He was blackmailed by the "company" showing a black and white film of him rapeing a young ... Read More:

Please, please stay the heck away from this dog. Basically, it's a bunch of street punks running around in diapers and women's makeup talking about "ultra-violence" that never really occurs, and the plot is even worse. This one gave me a massive migraine. I am truly not kidding about what this flick did to me! I remember watching it, hoping there was a point to all of it, but there truly wasn't. If you liked that massive WTF moment at the end of 2001 A space Odyssey, then this one's for you, since you'll get it. I sure as heck didn't, I ... Read More:

DOLLS!!! What may have been at the time of release "shocking" dialogue is why Valley of the Dolls will live in infamy. "Well Broad-way doesn't go for booozze and pills." Helen Larson tells Neeley O'Hara at the start of their catfight in the powder room. Great fun to watch with your best Gay friends. Great extras included. Packaging is well done and comes with lobby cards.

There is probably problems with licensing parts of the Soundtrack... One Part in particular ~ The Dead Kennedy's song playing while they are all in the Kitchen... Holiday in Cambodia. There have been lawsuits over this song between band members and Jello Biafra when Levi's wanted to use it in a commercial. Royalty payment disputes and the like. It has probably killed any chance of getting this film released on DVD.

8.Blade Runner - The Director's Cut starring: Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, Edward James Olmos, M. Emmet Walsh
directed by: Ridley Scott

VHS : Blade Runner - The Director's Cut
I love Blade Runner. But my 3 star rating has to do with version unbox downloaded for rental. I'm not hip to the names of the various versions, but I had heard there was one with an annoying Decker narration... FYI - The version provided through unbox is, of course, that one. I think it was essentially added to the film to help those who like their films spoonfed - maybe for tv/cable release. I'm kind of annoyed about this because it is totally distracting.

VHS : Island of Lost Souls
This was released a year before the production code went into enforcement, and it shows! There are things and suggestions of things here that the filmmakers would never have gotten away with once the Breen Office began imposing its iron fist on Hollywood. H.G. Welles, who wrote the novel on which it was based, was reportedly disgusted by it, but this is still one of the very best fantasy pictures of the early sound era, easily standing alongside 'King Kong' and Whale's 'The Bride of Frankenstein' as the very cream of the crop.

That it is still ... Read More:

10.Johnny Guitar starring: Joan Crawford, Sterling Hayden, Mercedes McCambridge, Scott Brady, Ward Bond

VHS : Johnny Guitar
***** 1954. A movie based on Roy Chanslor's Johnny Guitar and directed by Nicholas Ray. This DVD doesn't offer any bonus features and the copy, in Trucolor, is of average quality. Joan Crawford asks Sterling-Johnny Guitar-Hayden to protect her against Mercedes McCambridge and his friends who accuse her to be the accomplice of the Dancin' Kid. Huge and incredibly intelligent western that propelled Nicholas Ray among the top American directors of the 50's. The work on the colours is superb especially if one thinks of the vulcano metaphor that starts with the explosions ... Read More:
