| There are no words to describe how SLOW this movie was from beginning to end, but let me try anyway so as to give people a fair chance to avoid it and thus try and prevent their day/evening from being ruined: the film deals with the story of a schoolteacher from New England who meets a Virginian cowboy on the plains of Wyoming.

| Dustin Hoffman is great in this classic Western. It's one of the best Westerns out there. Hoffman plays a cavalry man who ends up living among the Native Americans. It's a bitter story of how poorly and unjustly were these people treated. Unfortunately, they're not faring much better today and the government does not treat them better either. There are some truths in this movie that we're still not willing to face and come to grips with today. This should be a required material for school kids and grown ups alike. | I am a huge fan of Eric Schweig so I may be a little partial to any of his flicks. I did buy this movie from e-bay for my ERIC collection, (13 flicks total) AAH!! It wasn't bad for a TV flick. What can you really show viewers in just a one or two hour movie? I think it showed how supporting the backstabbing British did the 6 nations in. Eric did a great job in his role and he's not too bad to look at either. LUV YA, ERIC! | Another one of my favorite movies with John Wayne and the whole John Ford crew.
The scene where Ben Johnson, Harry Carey Jr., and Claude Jarman Jr. ride two Horses Roman style (that's standing on the two horse's backs) was actually done by them, not stuntmen! They just don't make them like that anymore. |
