VHS : High Road to China
"High Road to China" is a classic. It had a great cast and good directing. The movie had action, adventure, comedy, danger, romance, and history. Tom Selleck is at his best. Bess Armstrong gives a stellar performance; as do Jack Weston, Wilford Brimley, et al. As with his movies, T.S's presence on the silver screen, doesn't overpower the other actors/actresses. It is a crime against good films not to view it, let alone not to own it !

This was a great movie to see in the theater, which is not a typical thing for me to say, and so it is even better in your own home (although the 61" telly helps), where you can pause it and get up to go to the loo. But it was every bit as amazing and moving and incredible to watch. And even though I knew the end of the film, I was still on the edge of my seat as the ship went to her watery grave. An amazing experience for all ages!

6.The African Queen starring: Humphrey Bogart, Katharine Hepburn, Robert Morley, Peter Bull, Theodore Bikel

VHS : The African Queen
What a work of art! This is one of the best movies of all time. When the spinster missionary woman (Hepburn) must TOLERATE Mr. Arnaut (Bogart)
in their life-threatening trip down the river in a beat-up old boat, The African Queen, the fun begins. She can drum up no respect for this man--until she realizes that he is an intelligent person who may be able to save their lives by his cool wit. He good naturedly sloughs off her constant criticism, while she endures his slovenly ways and colorful language. At some point ... Read More:

On Her Majesty's Secret Service - 2-Disc Ultimate Edition
I think GEORGE LAZENBY is the BEST BOND EVER. Too bad that Albert R. Brocolli and Harry Saltzman decided to chuck this Australian car salesman, after his one-time appearance as James Bond. Diana Rigg IS the prettiest Bond Girl. Louis Armstrong sings: 'We have all the time in the world'. Telly Savalas makes a terrific Ernest Stavro Blofeld. There is a tremondous Ice-Skating sequence, that has yet to be repeated. Many viewvers even from India, would not have noticed the ... Read More:

Took this movie out as I liked Dances With Wolves. Just terrible, bad plot, bad acting, bad ending.

9.Arabesque starring: Gregory Peck, Sophia Loren, Alan Badel, Kieron Moore, Carl Duering

VHS : Arabesque
Three years on the heels of Stanley Donen's delightful Charade comes his do-over effort Arabesque, a romantic spy thriller set in London. The leading man is Gregory Peck, who plays American David Pollock, a visiting professor of ancient languages who is persuaded by the Arab prime minister to infiltrate the household of a Middle Eastern oil tycoon, who is suspected of nefarious doings. This soon catapults him into the Hitchcockian world of deadly secret agents, spy intrigue, frantic chases and a mysterious cryptogram. He finds himself dubiously ... Read More:

VHS : Bond: Never Say Never Again
I wouldn't go out of my way for this if I wasn't a Bond completist, but NSNA seems to me to be a fair-to-middling Bond outing that compares favorably to its contemporary (1983) 'official' competition, OCTOPUSSY. Despite a low budget the film doesn't feel cheap, the recycled plot is one of the better ones, and Connery, although hamming it up a bit as a middle-aged superspy, is still everybody's favorite Bond.

If you're comparing this to the early Connery, or even the Pierce Brosnan period, forget it - done at the height (depth?) of the Roger ... Read More:
