I HOPE SO,THIS "BATMAN" IS A BETTER FILM COMPARED TO IT'S FOLLOW UP'S,EVEN THOUGH I DID ENJOY "BATMAN BEGINS" AND "THE DARK KNIGHT". HOPE IT BECOMES AVAILABLE ASAP OR VERY SOON,HEATH LEDGER MADE A DARK JOKER BUT I STILL ENJOY JACK NICHOLSON AS A FUNNY BUT EVIL JOKER.

In the original "Batman" & "Batman Returns," the storylines (or what shreds there were) were overwhelmed by the comic-book schtick left over from the wonderful 1960's "Batman" series. The schtick was fine for the series, but for the films...AUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. GOOD GRIEF! In "Batman Forever," Akiva Goldsman took over the screenwriting duties and the schtick was eliminated, giving way to a firmly grounded storyline. The same with its excellent follow-up "Batman & Robin" (which I ... Read More:

DO NOT get this for superlative acting or cinematic brilliance. It's just SO silly that it is priceless and highly enjoyable. The villains are a bit weak especially the Joker, but the Dynamic Duo are as camp and corny as ever. Could have been a little bit shorter. Otherwise classic silly entertainment - the shark and bomb scenes are so ridiculous they have to be seen to be believed. Hilarious!

Campy Batman can work with a good cast and right atmosphere, but here it mixes with dark Batsy and has a bad cast. (Except Jim Carrery.)

This was a decent prison film that hooked the viewer & kept you interested in the plot. The characters were fun to watch & interesting. It appealed to the viewer on more of a psychological level. Overall, not a bad way to spend a couple of hours. Not over-the-top like many of today's prison films which heavily rely on blood & gore. This one has depth to its characters & I thought this was truly well done. It's based on a play by the same name. If you like good, offbeat prison pictures that examine its characters & ... VHS : Charlie Chan: Murder Over New York
1940's "Murder Over New York" is a solidly entertaining entry in the Charlie Chan series, featuring Sidney Toler as the Honolulu Police Detective and Sen Yung as son Jimmy, playing hookey from college to help solve a case of sabotage and murder.

As the story opens, Charlie meets an old friend, Inspector Drake of Scotland Yard, on a Pan Am flight to New York (frequent fliers should note the spacious seating) while en route to a Police Convention. Inspector Drake has been seconded to British military intelligence and is on the trail ... Read More:

This movie is sweet. Do not expect this movie to be a cinematic classic, it is fun, just because that is what it was made for. Entertaining and the extra features on the HD disc are cool too. It has nice rides and excellent racing scenes. Aside from most movie crticism, it is fun to watch with friends.
